Chapter 4. Final selection.

Suki was walking for a while until she made it to final selection. There were a lot of people there. she thought in her head, "I bet most of them will die..". She walked over to a tree and stood under it as she waited for everyone else to arrive. She couldn't help but notice a boy around her age wearing a warding mask,a fox warding mask. It had a swirl design under each eye on the cheek, and he was wearing earrings that look like it could be hanafuda earrings, but it's actually just a bunch of swirl designs. She looked away once she saw 2 twin girls tell everyone to keep silent. They both spoke at the same time and had black and white hair.  They started to speak. "Hello,we thank you for attending the Demon Slayers final selection tonight. Here on this mountain, Demon Slayers have captured a number of demons alive, and they are unable to leave. That is because demons hate wisteria so much, wisteria blooms year round all the way down the mountain. However, they  don't grow from this point onward. You must survive 7 days here and come back up the mountain alive. We wish you all luck in battle." Suki started to walk down the mountain, although she was the only one, other than the boy with the warding mask. Everyone else just stood hesitantly. Suki began to walk down the mountain. It was dark, which means demons are roaming. She heard branches breaking and movement behind her, and she quickly unsheathed her sword and looked behind her,taking a fighting stance. "Ah... I guess you heard me... but not for long! I'm gonna devour you...!" the demon exclaimed. Suki looked at it incredulously. And charged at them,instantly cutting its neck clean off. "That was easy.." she muttered. Suki began to continue walking down the mountain until she saw a young boy with yellow hair and a yellow checkered haori wining in the distance as a boy with a fox warding mask yelled at him. "Stop wining! You look weak doing that. That's not how a real demon slayer acts!" The boy exclaimed at the other boy. Suki just ignored them and went on with her way. Until a demon appeared,2 of them. She unsheathed her sword once more. "Do you guys ever just go away...?" she muttered coldly as she sliced both of their necks at the same time, then she continued to walk down the mountain. It had been 6 days,and so far, she's still alive, She had already watched many demon slayers die before her eyes. Suki kept walking down the mountain,slicing demons here and there along her way. She finally ascended the mountain. And to her suprise,there were only about 5 people who survived,to her surprise she saw kamishiro? Maybe he sliced his bolder while she was traveling to the mountain... As soon as kamishiro saw her, he ran over to her and clinged onto her. "SUKI!! WAAAAA!! IT WAS SO SCARY! THERE WERE SO MANY DEMONS!!" Kamishiro wined as he clinged onto her. Suki stood there for a moment as he hugged her,then hugged him back. "You're such a baby.. you know that, right?.." she muttered. After a while, the 2 twin girls started talking once more. Kamishiro and Suki stood next to each other and glanced at them. "Welcome back. If you are here, you have successfully ascended the mountain. All of you are now officially demon slayers. As demon slayers,there are 10 ranks,which are Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and Kinoe.You will all be given the rank mizunoto, a uniform, and a crow." As they said that,crows came flying in and went to everyone. 1 crow per person, although,for some reason, kamishiro got a sparrow. "Huh?..did u say crow? I got a sparrow.." He mumbled. The girls began to speak again. "All of you will choose from one of these ores.". Suki and Kamishiro walked over to the table with ores along with other people. And they all chose one. After that, they were able to leave. Suki and kamishiro made their way back to urokodaki together. The boy in the fox warding mask walked near them as he made his own way back to his trainer.
