I kick in the door to the lighthouse. I really hope that we all fit inside the lighthouse. The structure itself is just the last solution for an urgent problem. We can only make our last stand inside the tower and wait for our help to come. After everyone has entered through the small wooden door we close it and barricade it with everything we find. The beating against the began as soon as we take the stairs up. The two large sharks swing the anchors against the lighthouse walls slowly chipping away the stone. Every swing sends shock waves through the structure. Starring down at them we are left with nothing more tot do than wait for our death. We got no dynamite left that we could throw down onto them. A bright light comes into my periphery. As bright as the sun itself it breaks the night. The rays of light travel from the silhouette of a bird flying across the sky. It belongs to a very special man inside the armies regiments. He is one of the few that holds the unimaginable forces inside to which he can enforce his will on the world. Our reinforcement has arrived. The burning man descends from the sky right onto the stone cliff. He does not slows down a bit. With full speed he crashes before the lighthouse. Right as he lands the flames that made up his cloak reach out pushing away the fish abominations. Their instincts to fear the most foreign fire drives them back even further. While the flames go out I can take a better look on the young man. He is wearing the standard uniform of the army with the insignia of a sergeant on his shoulders.

The two bulking sharks attack by swinging the rusty anchors at James. The young man is faster. Aided by his flames he evades the two blows by manoeuvring between the two monstrums. He again channels a flame attack to strike. His punch is aimed at the sharks lower torso. The fire enters the sharks body and leaves it after traversing its belly. The first shark falls to the ground where it finds its last breath. The second shark grinds his anchor across the ground in a horizontal swing. James right hand lights up as he clashes it against the metal weapon. James sole arm is stronger and hotter than the anchor! His hand melts right though the metal, slicing it apart. A follow up attack by James manifests as a kicking motion. A large flaming wave pushes the shark next to his brother. James jumps from the ground by directing a flame burst beneath him. Moving through the air he lands atop the shark. Next he grabs the sharks nose to melt his whole skull away. Not even a scream of pain can leave the sharks mouth. The young sergeant jumps of the now dead beast. He straightens his uniform and looks up to the rear of the lighthouse where the men and I are standing.

"Commander Hunter, I have arrived to serve your orders, sir." the sergeant introduces himself. While he is much much stronger than every member in my company I am still his superior.

"It's a bliss that you arrived here before we fell victim to the fish army." Nothing could be closer to the truth. The young sergeant saved our very lives. Just a few more minutes and we all would be dead. We gather inside the lighthouse to plan our next move. With Sergeant James Foster on our side no fish will be able to stand a chance against us. Now we are finally on the advantaged side again. We gather around the small table in the middle of the round room. James takes the word.

"Good day everyone. I call ordered to extinguish the whole town with everyone in it. I guess that excludes all of you. Could someone get me up to the news?"

"The fish army dragged down a whole fucking ship to the ground of the ocean. We alone are not enough to defeat them. Several dozens of my soldiers lost their lives. The town is lost and the fish people rise out of the sea in masses."

"Hmmm. That is pretty bad but nothing we couldn't fix already." James the optimist has not witnessed what we experienced. A solder interrupts our talk.

"Boss, there is something happening with the fish!" I get up from the chair to take a look at what the soldier has spotted. From the far away lighthouse I can spot the masses of fish marching down the towns streets. All together the inhabitants of the ocean form a combined swarm. They let loose of attacking us and focus on something else. That means we are safe for now?

"Everyone. James and I are going down again to see what the fish are doing. By chance we will make use of James' powers to exterminate as many fish as possible."

"I will come with you." Eve shares my eagerness to bring the fish people to justice.

"Eve, you will stay here!" I tell her in a strict voice.

"You all will stay here. I will not risk any other life on this mission. We already lost enough. Sergeant James and I will deal with the remaining fishmen."

James and I step out onto the rear of the lighthouse.

"Sir, please hold onto your gear and weapons. The ride can be a bit rough."

Sergeant James returns to his bird-form to rest on the lighthouses roof. His morphed form is a lot larger that I remembered. His bird face resembles a small aspect of his human face. Funny that his slightly curved peak is the same as his curved nose. The straight red feathers begin to create flames that calmly hover over him. The tail feathers expand alongside the entire building ending in glowing orbs. He spreads his wings to take of into the heavens. The talons close over my shoulder to lift me up alongside James. Although the flames touch my skin I can not feel any pain or distress. The fire rather feels warm and comforting. Unimaginable that the flames are able to hurt anyone. Though he said that the ride could be unsteady I never travelled calmer. I never travelled by flying to begin with but I imagined it to be much more rough. With every swing of the burning wings we fly higher into the sky. The town is no small settlement but from up here it appears even much smaller.

"Let's stay over the town to observe where the fish are going!" We need to know where they are going

"Roger that!"

We draw circles above the town. Fish people swarm through the streets. To the cliff we were fighting on before. But they have given up on hunting us down. No one of them is creating any other sound than the wet sounds of their feet stomping the ground in a marching manner. They all aim for the beach side behind the tall cliff. The streets create trenches. All the fish are placed in direct lines. Now would be the best opportunity to take out as many fish as possible.

"Can you create enough fire to kill all the fish down there? You can strike at them is a straight line." This will be the deciding feat that will either kill enough fish to scatter the survivors back into the ocean or agitate the masses to finally rip us apart.

"I guess I could try it but killing all of them in one attack is a feat of impossibility, sir. Fighting them of on my own would take several days."

"Let's land on the church tower. From there we will plan our next move."

Lowering our attitude I touch sturdy ground in the form of roof tiles. James turns back into his human form. From the sky the sound were not intelligible. The fish hum a sound like they were some hours ago when I observed them at the market place. After some time the fish movement becomes slower and slower until they come to a stop.
