Chapter-10

"Ahhmmmm......." Vikrant cleared his throat and came inside the cabin.
As Ajay saw him his body stiffened and he instantly left her hand.

"Sir.... Avni has brought the file". He said while once again giving her a smile.

The way he took her name Vikrant didn't like it . He looked at her. She was standing there while clenching the file close to her chest. She was looking nervous as if she had seen some ghost. She was biting her lips in nervousness while looking down.

He slowly went near to her. As she saw him coming near, her heart started beating fast in fear.

Oh god... What will he do now? Will he again shout at me? What is he planning? She was getting tensed in anticipation.

"Give it to me...... She heard his heavy voice and instantly looked up. He was standing in front of her while extending his hand. First time she didn't see any anger on his face. He was looking normal. This was a strange thing for her because whenever they were in front of each other she had only seen hatred for her in his eyes but today it was missing.

"What are you thinking Avni.... Give me the file...? He said and broke her chain of thoughts.

"Huhhh....." She whispered and handed over him the file. She was shocked. For the very first time he had called her with her name and that too so calmly without raising his voice.

What happened to him?..... Is this the same Vikrant Kashyap I know?... No.... I am sure he is acting to be good in front of Ajay. Otherwise he would never speak to me without getting irritated..... She thought while watching him when he was busy turning the pages of the file.

"Can I go now?"Avni asked in a low voice?

"Ok.... "He answered without even looking at her.

Thank god..... She sighed in piece and instantly walked out.

"Ajay you should also go and call Mr. Mehra. Tell him to meet me at lunch. I want to talk to him about the investments..." He said and put the file on the desk when he saw a mobile laying there. It's cover had a funny cartoon character imprinted on it.

He took the phone and started looking at it in confusion.

"Oh... I think Avni forgot her phone. She would not have gone too far. Don't worry I will give her back.." Ajay said and snatched the phone from his hand and instantly left.

Vikrant was surprised.
What happened to Ajay. He never behaved like this before. Why he is looking so interested in her?.. He thought.

He couldn't control his urge and went towards the window and started looking at the main road. He was right. Ajay was there with Avni. He was talking to her while continuously smiling. They were looking so comfortable with each other. Looking at them together, something was bothering him. He wanted to move from there but his eyes were glued at her. Her smiling face again started developing some weird emotions. He kept looking at her without blinking until her cab came and she left.

He was feeling really restless so as soon as she left he sat down on his chair and opened his laptop to divert his mind . After an hour Ajay again came to him.

"Sir... Mr. Mehra is waiting for you in conference hall..." He informed him.

"Ok... I am coming...Vikrant said while typing something on his laptop. He was trying to be as normal as he can but he was still feeling disturbed.

"Ok sir....." Ajay said and was about to leave when Vikrant could not control himself and suddenly spoke.

"What were you talking to her?" He question without looking at him. He didn't want him to saw his emotions. Actually he himself didn't know why he was interested in their conversation.
