Summer
The wind wiped away the hairs from my face as I ran towards our classroom, it's past thirty minutes since my first class and unpunctuality is not acceptable. I overslept and I know that it's not a good reason to say to my professor. I fixed my hair before swinging my classroom's door open. I sighed in relief after noticing that my professor is nowhere to be seen. I immediately sat on my assigned sit and asked my friend.
"Ella, wala pa si sir?." I uttered. Ella smiled at me and shook her head.
"Wala pa sis, buti nalang. Ba't ka pala late?." She asked as I tried fixing the inside of my bag, I didn't had a time to fix it after leaving.
"Nakatulog ako," I answered with a goofy face. Ella rolled her eyes at me but with a smile.
Ella is my only close friend here in my university, we are in our third year of college and we've been friends since our freshmen days. My college life would've been tough without Ella. I can survive on my own but going through a journey with someone helps you in so much ways.
"Huy 'te, anong balak mo this semestral break?, balik ka ba ulit sa province niyo?," Ella asked. I plastered a grin and nod.
"Oo, I missed my papa's house there and the air," Sumimangot si Ella at tinapik ako.
"Can I be with you? Ayoko nang sumama sa mga family gatherings namin, pati yung crush ko gusto kong makita 'dun," Ella pleaded plastering a fake sad face.
Ella loves all public and social gatherings except her own. She hates being in their clan especially when they're complete. She always feels that she don't belong there and her Dad only wants her to be with them because of her achievements.
"Yes, you can come with me but avoid that 'crush' of yours, for all I know isa siya sa pinaka babaero sa probinsiya namin and he's friends with almost all the gangster in there," Ella rolled he eyes at me.
"And that's why I like him!.' She showed her tongue at me but giggled eventually.
After our small talks, our professor finally came and begun with our lesson. It was a tiring three hours of our morning before finally having a break and take our lunch. Ella insisted that we should eat at her favorite place who cooks good chicken wings and noodles. I just came with her since I'm also craving something heavy and salty for my stomach.
After our lunch, we got back in our university and resumed our classes. It didn't take long for us to finish and get home.
"Bye best friend! See you tomorrow!." Ella exaggeratedly waved her hands as she walks away from me and leave. I laughed and waved back.
"Bye, Ella!."
Just before I could turn back to where I'm headed I heard a loud scream.
"May nag susuntukan!," a girl shouted trying to alarm all of us. There was indeed a commotion happening, but it was none of my business. It's probably from our seniors since their physics was nothing from the other boys around them. I shrugged and began walking.
"Ouch!," napahawak ako sa balikat ko. I saw three big guys pass through me heading to where the commotion was happening.
"Sorry, miss," the other guy politely said. I shrugged and just left.
Umalis na ako at baka masama pa sa gulo. I got home just before the sun set and was so starving. I just ate what's left in my fridge and took a shower before heading towards my room. I hugged my bed and took a deep breath. The mattress felt so nice and fluffy accompanied by my air freshener, it felt so euphoric.
As I was rubbing both of my hands on the mattress, I felt that there was something missing with me. Crap! It's my bracelet! Napatayo agad ako para hanapin sa buong apartment ko but it was nowhere to be found! I panicked because that was sentimental to me and I bought it as a reward for myself way back when I graduated from my senior highschool.
I spent the night looking for it but failed to. I am sullen the whole night up until my next class in the morning.
"Oh 'te, anyare sa'yo?," Ella greeted. I sat in my chair and plastered a sad smile.
"Nawala yung bracelet ko," I responded. Ella made a shocked face.
"No way! 'San mo nawala?," she asked.
"Ewan ko, 'di ko naman napansin but when I got back home wala na siya," I answered. I also checked my bag last night but I failed to see it.
"Oh my, hanapin natin mamaya," Ella smiled at me. I nod at her but I know that finding it would be impossible.
I got sad knowing that there might me a possibility that I won't see my bracelet again but I'll hope that I can.
