A grey Toyota car drove past an old sign, as it stood on the side of the road in the snow. It was showing a picture of a vehicle crisscrossing around, reading "slippery road".
Sumi Ho sat near the window on her right, staring out into the distance, ignoring the noises around her.
The car was filled with laughter and chattering, the sound of joy and delight filled the air. The sound of Rick Astley singing "never gonna give you up" played softly in the background from the radio.
"Hey Eomma, can we change the radio station? I'm not really feeling this one." Sumi asked, her mother for her to turn off the music that was playing in the car.
Her younger brother, Kwan seated beside her, who had been playing with his stuff dinosaur, give her an confused face. "Why, Noona?! I like this song!"
"I know, but I'm in the mood for something different. How about some piano music?" Sumi suggested, instead of the music that was playing.
"Piano music? That's so old-school, Sumi. Come on, let's keep it lively with this song!" Her older brother, June who was sitting next to their young brother, injected her decision.
"Old-school or not, I just find piano music soothing. It's like a gentle escape." Sumi says.
"How about we enjoy the serene silence of the snowfall without any music?" Their Eomma proposed, reaching over to turn off the radio.
The siblings groan at the idea of what their Eomma had just did just now, as the entertainment in the car was no more. Sumi sighed and just looked out in the window instead, watching the snow fall past the window.
