Chapter 5: WTF

Danny POV

Damn seeing Su'lee after all this time was crazy. I really missed her and the crazy shit is every woman I have been with after I compare to her. She has always been the only woman I ever wanted. I just have to wait until she realizes I'm all she ever needs.

I wasn't a little street hustler anymore. I was a millionaire. I was just in the old hood stopping my cousin Peaches from coping dope. I had a booming internet dating company. It was like a Black People Meet kinda thing. I moved to upstate New York to a beautiful mini mansion and had no one to share it with. I wanted to know what the hell made Su'Mae jump on Sarah like that so I had went to visit her in the ER.

"Hey Miss Sarah. How you feeling" I asked taking a seat next to her bed. "That little bitch fucked me up. I had to get sixteen stitches in the back of my head" she said still upset. I knew Su'Mae didn't really fuck with Sarah cause she got her mother turned out on drugs. Their father took them to their grandmother and she raised them. It was the story of so many people growing up in the hood. "Why Mae attack you Miss Sarah" I asked not one to beat around the bush. "Cause I had Cookie and her friends try to jump on her but someone stopped them" she said.

I knew exactly what she was talking about because I stopped them. How could you do that to someone. Ming Lee came to me one day because she wanted to get clean. She said she wanted to make her daughters proud of her before it was to late. I helped her get into a rehab and I helped her get the job at CVS. See the moment she came to me I knew exactly who she was and I knew how hurt Su'lee was that her mother was on drugs. I knew all she wanted was her mother in her life so it was no hesitation on my part to help Ming Lee get on track.

Sarah was knodding out from the drugs they gave her so I just left. When I got to my car I called my realitor and asked him to send me some houses he has on the market in a nice surburian neighborhood. I was gonna get Su'lee the house for her and her family. I wanted to take her away the life she was living.

Grandma Mae POV

Buddy had called me and told me that Su'Mae had put Sarah ass in the hospital and then Su'lee calls and says Ming Lee coming here with them. I didn't ask to many questions last night because it was late but I damn sure was gonna ask questions this morning. Ming Lee ain't one of my favorite people but I'm glad she getting herself together. I was in the kitchen drinking my coffee and reading the paper when Su'Mae walked in looking exhausted. "You need to go back to bed baby you still look like you need sleep" I said starting on some breakfast. "Where is Susu? She wasn't in her room" Su'Mae said.

"She was gone early baby. I didn't see her either and I need to talk to both of yous" I said scrabbling eggs. "Look Grandma I know I shouldn't have done that to Aunt Sarah but she had it coming. She had someone jump on my mother just because she decided to get clean" she said still sounding annoyed. "Well you had a right to jump on her if you was protecting ya momma. Sarah know betta than to do some mess like that but how long do you think ya momma gonna stay clean? This ain't the first time she cleaned herself up you know" I said not wanting them to get their hopes up.

"I'm done with drugs Mae" Ming Lee said coming into the kitchen. "I heard it all before with you Lee so forgive me if I ain't jumping for joy like ya daughters. You got a lot to prove to me" I said taking a seat at the table. "What is she talking about Ma? When did you get clean before" Su'Mae asked. "You and Su'lee were like six years old" Ming Lee said sitting down. "She stayed clean for five months. One day she came in here and got you and Su'lee told me she found a place. Three days later I was picking you two up from the police station and she was gone back on that pipe" I said remembering that day like it was yesterday.
