First thing in the morning, Charlie set off to find Ella. It had been bothering him all night about the twins, and he wanted answers. "Finally! I've been waiting for you to finish patrol all night." Charlie exclaimed as Ella walked through the doors. "Why would you wait that long? You know patrol doesn't end until 5am?" She responds rolling her eyes at him, only for him to roll his own back at her. "I need you to tell me about the twins, Holden and Gabriel." He says. "They said something about not always being able to go to school, what does that mean?" He continued as a knowing look crossed Ella's face. "You made a face, what happened to them?" He asked impatiently. "They didn't always live with my coven. Its common knowledge that their mom was born and raised in it, but their dad was from a neighbouring pack. When they got married, they moved to his pack and had the twins. I personally don't know much about their early years, but I do know that the humans near his pack, aren't too fond of us, the supernatural. The school would discipline them, suspend them over minor things or things that weren't their fault. Lock its doors to any who were late, but they purposefully made sure supernaturals were late. They missed school often because of this." She started to explain.
"By the time they reached the age of 9, the tensions between supernaturals and humans were the worst it had been since before the treaty. Anyways, half breeds are generally accepted nowadays as you know, but there are some people who have the old way of thinking. The treaty mentions humans, wolves, witches and vampires specifically, in small print other supernatural species, but no where does it mention half breeds. Some see that as a loophole, others see it as an oversight since it states all witches and all wolves. They're both witches and wolves, meaning they should be recognized under the treaty as either one, but that isn't always the case with some people. They fled their pack in the middle of the night, and their mother brought them back to my coven and we took them in, as well as a few others. They've lived with us for almost 4 years now." Ella continued, she hated dealing with ignorant humans, but these humans weren't just ignorant, they were cruel, and threatened the peace treaty. If a supernatural had retaliated in any way, the treaty would've been broken and all hell would break loose.
"The reason why Gabriel is top of his class, is because he thrived to make sure no one had a reason to kick him or his brother out of school." She finishes, looking to Charlie to see his troubled expression. "How did they get away with all that? Doesn't it go against the treaty?" He asked, not understanding why the elders or high council didn't get involved. The high council has human members for this reason. "They didn't break any official rules, they weren't physically harmed or killed, the peace was technically still in place. I told you, it was sort of like a loophole, they did what they could without crossing any lines, but they are being monitored by the elders and high council, so things have gotten better there, but are still tense." She said as Charlie nodded. He couldn't imagine having to grow up like that, even after the rogue attack, the humans near their pack were still at peace with them. He was lucky.
A timer went off, and Charlie knew that meant he had to get back to his room before the pups got too rowdy before class. Sean would be way too casual and calm with them and probably let them do whatever they wanted, claiming to be the fun one. They'd all end up late to classes if he let Sean have his way. When he got back to the room, he found everyone, including Sean asleep. "Seriously you guys? Up. Up up up now, let's go!" Charlie said loudly, startling both Gabriel and Wesley. Waking up in a panic, the two pups look around only to be unamused by Charlie standing over them. "Come on Char! Could you be a bit less "danger is coming!" and more "everything's fine but it's time to wake up". Wesley said grumpily to his older brother. "First of all, I don't sound like that, my voice isn't that deep, and second, well would you have woken up if I gently and calmly asked you to?" Charlie asked with a grin. "I would've." Gabriel mumbled annoyed at having been startled by his booming voice. Charlie apologized and told them to start getting ready while he woke the others. He threw a pillow at Sean, who had caught the pillow and with lightning speed flung it back at Charlie, hitting him in the face. "You should stop underestimating a sleeping vampire." Sean says with his eyes still closed. Rolling his eyes Charlie moves onto Sam and Holden, but Gabriel gets to his twin brother first. "Holden wake up! We can't be late again." He says with urgency, gaining Holdens attention. Charlie on the other hand had no luck with Sam. "Sammy I will throw ice water on you. Don't test me." He says pinching his nose. Sighing heavily, Sam harshly flung himself up off the bed and glared at Charlie. "Okay grumpy pants glare all you want, that won't change the fact that you need to get your tiny butt into the bathroom to get ready to school." Charlie says raising an eyebrow for Sam to disagree. Grumbling to himself, Sam goes off to get ready. Making a quick decision, Wesley shoved his Mickey into his backpack to keep close to him all day. He was missing the comfort of his best friend and hoped that having his stuffed toy would help. Sam had the same thought, and put his Goofy in his bag.
