Chapter 1 - What if a Star is Reborn?

“T-this can’t be real, t-this can’t be!” Were the thoughts of a young boy with blue, aquamarine eyes, no older than 3 or 4 as he was being held in the arms of his beloved mother … Dyed in blood red as the life was slowly draining out of her. This pair goes by Aqua Hoshino and Ai Hoshino, as Ai had suffered a serious injury to her stomach. The shocked Aqua could do nothing but despair, as he watched in horror as his mother was slowly passing away before his very eyes … Or so he thought.”

“A-ai … “ The young Aqua muttered in his sleep, as his mother soon came to his side to check up on him. “Yes Aqua?” Hearing Ai’s voice, Aqua was able to wake up from the nightmare as he was greeted by the worried expressions of not just Ai, but also his twin sister - Who had accompanied Ai to Aqua’s side. The twin sister’s name was Ruby, a girl with blonde hair with pinkish highlights at the end, along with ruby colored eyes as she was concerned for her brother was apparent when the Mother/Daughter pair noticed Aqua showing signs of a nightmare as the young boy hugged Ai tightly upon his awakening; Barely holding back tears as what he saw was very haunting and scarring - But didn’t want to make Ruby worry when he noticed her presence with Ai.

“Aqua? What’s wrong?” Ai asked as she was confused, while Ruby had the same question and tried to comfort her brother. Aqua, however, remained silent as he needed a moment to confirm that what he’s seeing now was reality and the nightmare he saw was just a dream. “... This is real. What I saw was a nightmare, this is reality …” Aqua thought as his grip on Ai tightened, as if not wanting to let go in case he was wrong but was also praying and hoping that it wasn’t a joke on fate’s part. Ai and Ruby remained confused but were mostly concerned for Aqua’s condition, and thus Ai has decided to stay with him a little longer until he could calm down.

“Ruby, did you do something to upset Aqua?” Ai asked as she continued to hug Aqua, who had a firm and strong grip on her this whole time. “Huh? No, I didn’t! Onee-chan must’ve had a bad dream!” Ruby replied, as Ai silently took it in and looked at Aqua with a concerned look still present on her face. “Aqua, is this true? Did you have a nightmare?” Ai asked, wanting to know if this was the source of her son’s state and Aqua merely replied with a nod.

“Eh? Is that so? Eto … What was it about?” Curious, Ai now asked her son what it was as she thought that maybe talking about it could help. However, she was unaware of what it was, and this caused Aqua to be visibly shaken as thinking about it was … Too much. This caused Ai and Ruby to realize that it was probably best to not talk about it further, so they decided to spend the day with Aqua - Much to her manager’s annoyance. The reason for this? Well, it’s because Ai’s job was an idol.

“Ai, do you have any idea how much work you have to do?!” The man spoke loudly, bordering on yelling because he felt like Ai doesn’t understand how much work she has to put up with due to being an idol … But he was holding back because prior to her request? Ai started the talk by telling him the reason why she wants to take a small break, at least for the day. “Hai, hai. Eto, Aqua wouldn’t let me go earlier. So can it be alright if it’s just today? I promise to work extra hard tomorrow!” Ai declared, as she was rather determined to get at least 1 day to herself to spend time with Aqua and Ruby, and upon seeing how serious she was? The manager decided to give her this chance. After all, what harm would it be to just have 1 day off? So with a sigh, he agreed.

“Alright, just this once. But I expect you to keep your promise. Am I clear?” The manager asks for confirmation, to which Ai replies with a ‘Hai!’ followed with a cute salute. He would sigh once more as he wasn’t sure about this, but decided to allow it anyway and left Ai be for the day and work on her schedule to accommodate this. As for Aqua and Ruby? They were under the manager’s wife’s care, who’s name was -
