Betrayed

The next morning I was startled awake by loud banging, I shot up from bed and checked my alarm, 7:30am. way later then I wanted to be up, shit.

I grabbed my knife and listened carefully through the door, I heard what sounded like womens grunts. I slowly removed the chair from my door and peaked into the kitchen.

I seen the front door knob giggling about and Gwen's squeals from behind it. I ran to the peep hole and made sure to take a nice long look. She looked to be alone.

I removed the chair and unlocked the door and the second I did Gwen came barreling through so fast it knocked me over. I fell straight onto my back, the impact had me fumbling with the knife the whole way down and surprisingly I didn't stab myself.

"Holy shit Gwen ow" I rubbed at my tailbone

"Holy shit yourself Tul I was up all night looking for you I was horrified something bad happened" Gwen was talking so fast she basically was spitting everywhere.

"I went to a bar after and fucking Tom followed me there and then I came home" I muttered still rubbing at my tailbone

I watched Gwen's eyes widen a bit. "he caught up with you at a bar and you.. you" she kept stuttering

"I.. I what??" Now annoyed

"You managed to... get like.. away?" She looked down avoiding eye contact.

"I mean I'm here aren't I? And what is that supposed to mean? He was actually coming after me?" I held myself confidently but knowing she was about to confirm or deny a gang member on my tracks made my blood run cold.

"Ya like.. i don't know Tul" she sighed

I pushed her hands away from me and sprang up from the floor "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT KNOW?" I could feel my voice thundering through our kitchen

"He wants you as his.. I don't know like.. house.. pet.. slave.. thingy" she spoke low and gave me a shy smile.

My face twisted as I couldn't even believe the words coming from her mouth. It took me a second to digest what she had just said before I bursted out laughing.

"A PET SLAVE THINGY HA" my stomach now cramping from how hard I was laughing.

"GWEN ARE YOU" I was slightly bent over trying to catch my breath "ARE YOU STUPID??" I kept laughing hard.

"It's not a fucking joke Tallulah, this is serious. I shouldn't even be here right now it's making you more in danger, I have to leave" she sneered at me but also had a concerned face on.

I kept trying to catch my breath and finally let out a big sigh. "Guinevere.. if you're telling me right now you're apart of some sex traffic thing I swear to god" i pointed my finger in her face.

She quickly snatched my finger and squeezed it "it's not a sex traffic thing, they're the biggest gang in Tokyo and now I'm involved with them. those other girls are know as" she used air quotes with her fingers "pets" " and Tom wants you as his because he thinks it's some fun twisted game to hunt you down, bills been actively trying to make me bring you to him but I haven't"

I now frowned at her, realizing what she had just said.. "but you tried to bring me to him?" my voice now coarse and hard at the betrayal

"No.. n no Tul just listen" she pleaded

"GET AWAY FROM ME" I screamed and stormed into my room shutting the door. I flipped opened my phone and dialed the airport number to get myself on the next flight back home.

I heard Gwen banging on my bedroom door "TULLY YOU CANT LEAVE, HES GOING TO GET YOU ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ITS INEVITABLE! I WOULDNT BE SAYING THIS IF I KNEW THERE WAS ANOTHER WAY! I TRIED TO BRING YOU OUT BECAUSE HE PROMISED HE WOULDNT HURT YOU IF YOU CAME WITH ME BUT NOW IM SCARED" she was screeching and pounding at my door
