Wanda
Wanda looked around the hallway that led to some of the offices. She looked behind her but Pietro wasn't there. She was curious where he could have gone off to but decided to focus on finding a computer first. It wasn't like she didn't care about her brother; she just knew he was fine on his own. She figured he was already looking for her anyway. Wanda sucked in a breath and walked towards one of the open offices. Unfortunately for her it wasn't empty. A black haired woman sat behind the desk. She glanced in the direction of the door. "Can I help you?" the woman asked with a hint of annoyance to her voice. Wanda was almost embarrassed but peeked her head around the corner anyway. "I just needed to borrow something is all." Wanda began. "And that is...?" The woman seemed more bored than anything. "A computer...?" Wanda commented but the way she said it made it seem like more of a question. "So you want to use my computer? For what exactly?" she asked her. Wanda felt dumb asking to use the computer for a thumb drive. But she didn't exactly have anyone else to ask. And besides this woman didn't seem like the die for Hydra type of person. But you could never tell.
"I'm not just going to give my computer to you but I have nothing better to do so you might as well come in." the woman motioned inside the office. Wanda shrugged and slowly walked inside the small office space. She did her best not to look around. "So you are?" the woman questioned. "Wanda Maximoff." Wanda replied almost instantly. She had grown used to answering simple questions such as who she was. "Hope Van Dyne." the woman; Hope remarked. "Nice to meet you?" Wanda tilted her head to one side. "I guess." Hope shrugged. Wanda pulled out the thumb drive. She hesitated on actually handing it to Hope but did so anyway. Hope looked it over for a second before plugging the file into her computer. Wanda couldn't help but notice how young Hope seemed compared to the other tech people who worked here. Hope glanced towards her "Are you just going to stare at me or...?" Hope asked. Wanda immediately apologized and stepped back. As the file was uploaded the silence seemed unbearable. "So how does someone like you end up here?" Hope asked the question first. Wanda was surprised at her question but supposed someone who didn't know her would be curious. "I volunteered." Wanda commented but didn't say much more about it. "Darren invited me to come here." Hope remarked, still staring at the computer. "Darren Cross?" Wanda was surprised at her response. Hope nodded but said nothing more.
The file finally was uploaded before either of them had any more questions to ask about the reasons they were here. Hope clicked on it and the two of them were curious about what they found. "Something on this scepter." Hope scrolled down further. Wanda was a little nervous about what was on the file but she couldn't take her eyes off of it. She read something along the lines of how powerful Hydra had become. Some more boasting about the New World Order. The main cities that would be affected and the steps that would be taken to ensure that Hydra would stay unstoppable. The Avengers would be captured and Wanda paused at the sentences that followed. The Avengers would be captured and given the chance to fight for Hydra or watch everyone they loved be killed. An asterisk marked the phrase fight for Hydra. Below it was something that said or be killed if proven too difficult. The file spoke more about the weapons that would be used in conquering the most major cities of the world. How to get past the militaries of certain governments. And after the information above there was footage. The captions above the videos said stuff along the lines of the countries that had cooperated and what happened to the cities/countries that didn't. Neither Hope nor Wanda looked at each other or said anything as the footage played showed Hydra soldiers slaughtering people who seemed to be protesting against Hydra's rule. Wanda put a hand over her mouth to hide her horror.
There was more on the file but Hope didn't dare to scroll down any further. "Well that's that I suppose." Hope sighed, unplugging the thumb drive and handing it back to Wanda. Wanda gave a slight nod, her shaking hand taking the thumb drive. "Why do you have this?" Hope asked. "It was given to me by someone who wanted me to know about this." Wanda replied. Hope was confused. "You mean someone wanted you to know about Hydra's plans?" she questioned. "I think it was something about changing my mind on things." Wanda hugged her arms to her chest. Hope seemed to frown and looked down at her desk. Wanda wondered if the files had also made Hope reconsider her choices. Wanda put a hand on Hope's shoulder making her jolt up. "Sorry, habit-" Wanda remarked. "It's fine." Hope sighed. The two of them sat in silence for a moment more. "I better go find my brother." Wanda said, breaking the silence. Hope nodded slightly. As Wanda left she noticed Hope watching her go with an unsaid sadness to her expression. She shook off what she just witnessed to try to act calm about the situation. But in reality she wasn't ok about anything she just saw. But to think of it, was she really ever fine? Sure she acted like everything was fine, she always did. Did pretending really hide anything Wanda hoped it did. Since Pietro wasn't with her she was left to think about her own emotions. Which was a rather unpleasant experience. Wanda didn't mean to be so miserable but that wasn't quite the right word. Depressed, anxious maybe, nervous, scared? She wasn't sure if there was a word to describe the feeling she left all the time.
