(Third P.O.V)

The cold wind carried withered, falling leaves through the dark sky, creating almost a clustered collage in the city of New York. During the winter season, the city was practically empty because of all of the tourists and visitors going back to their origins. It was Levi's favorite season. No one there bothered him when he went on long runs and walks in the beautiful parks. Originally, Levi lived in France but due certain matters, he moved away towards New York City where he hoped to never be found. Especially by him.

At around five in the morning, Levi got out of his extremely warm bed with a tired groan. Always being tired was something that he has dealt with all of his life growing up due to insomnia. Sleep was a rare thing for Levi and when he finally could fall asleep, his dreams were accustomed to extremely frightening nightmares. Early morning runs were essential to the beginning of Levi's day. Morning workouts help you wake up for the day and it's as if you can feel accomplished. Pulling on his warm clothing that consisted of gray sweats, a baggy navy sweatshirt, gloves and a hat with black, nike running shoes. His attire was always looking fairly decent, even when he wanted to be comfortable. From being poor to mildly wealthy, he always tended to keep his belongings pristine. Especially his clothes.

As I stepped outside of my apartment complex, I slightly smiled as the frighteningly cold wind hit my cheeks, making my pale skin a rosy red. Most people hate the cold, but I love it. I hate the heat during the summer due to the disgusting feeling of being dirty so the cold is what keeps me sane. Shivering from the low temperature, I began my usual routine of stretches to warm up my muscles before a long distance jog. A few minutes pass before I'm done and then I begin my usual route of jogging down the boulevard and toward the west park. I passed many houses and apartment buildings before I reached one of the busy streets.

Going on runs in the city is considered dangerous so I tend to be very cautious when I do so. Though, during early mornings, there are little to no cars on the street or so I thought. When I go on these runs, I tend to stick to myself and solely focus on getting done with no rush. Today was no different but when a sudden, abrupt car turned into the street I was currently on, I slowed down a bit. The black van with tinted windows was going fairly fast so when its high beamers turned on and came rushing towards me, I immediately froze. A similar situation occurred a few years ago when I tried to unsuccessfully run away from him so all I could do was stand there like a deer in headlights, overwashed in fear. Before the van could hit me head-on, I was tackled to the ground onto the grass beside the sidewalk. I grunted as I hit something hard, yet soft. I was unaware that there were arms wrapped securely around me as I looked back toward the black van. The tires screeched to a stop before the van took off at a dangerous speed. I was watched as it rounded the corner and out of my view before a deep, raspy but slightly smooth voice interrupted my fearful thoughts. I immediately looked down with a panicked gaze and there I saw a pair of bright, emerald eyes. I quickly pulled back with an embarrassed blush spreading onto my cheeks.

"Are you okay?" Was the first thing the man said. As I pulled back, I felt something squirm beneath me. My eyes widened in realization as I immediately jumped up to get off of the man who just saved my life. "I'm so sorry!" I reached out a hand to help him up. He looked at me for a moment before a small smile appeared on his face. "It's alright." He took my hand and when he stood, he appeared to be about 7 feet taller than me. I blushed at the height difference.

Getting a good look at him, I realized just how  beautiful this man is. He had bright emerald green eyes with chestnut brown hair that was pulled into a tight-low bun. His face looked as if it was sculpted by the gods itself and his body was very built. I could see the muscles bulging out of his tight jacket. I kept my composure though I was internally dying. Shaking the impure thoughts from my head, I looked at the gorgeous man in the eye and slightly smiled. "Thank you for saving my life." He wore what looked to be an expensive suit so when I saw the crumpled and dirty patches on his jacket and slacks, I internally cringed. "I'm sorry you got caught up in that. You look like you have somewhere to be.." I noted as I got another look of his stylish uniform. "So I will leave you be. Thank you again for saving me." I smiled a little wider. His eyes narrowed some but his small smile didn't distinguish. "I am pleased to find you so humble but trust me, saving you was no problem at all. Don't apologize." He said softly as he reached a hand out to fix the hat on my head. I blushed at his kind gesture before I returned the favor and helped brush off the dirt from his suit. "You're very kind." He muttered softly.

"My name is Eren." Cute, I thought to myself. "I'm Levi." His smile turned into a slightly mischievous grin which was now one of the hottest things I've ever seen in my life. "Well Levi, I should get going but before I do so, I think it'd be best if I drove you home. I wouldn't want to leave such a beautiful being on the streets like this." I could hear the concern in his voice which made my heart swell and I could feel a warm sensation rumbling in my abdomen. Did he call me beautiful?. "Especially during the circumstances. Besides, you look freezing." I thought for a moment to myself. Do I let this handsome and kind stranger who just saved my life from a mysterious van, take my home?

...

Absolutely.

The heat blasted as we drove back to my apartment complex. I showed Eren where to go and he dropped me off. He seemed to be in a hurry but before I could fully get out of the car when we arrived, he handed me what looked like his business card. It had his number on it. I furrowed my brows in confusion, though took it and put it in my hoodie pocket. "What for?" I proceeded to ask as I closed the car door and leant against the open window. He smiled. "Just in case I need to come save you again." He chuckled before pulling the ignition. "I just gave you my number, is all. Shoot me a text when you get the chance. I'd like to grab a coffee with you sometime." Surprised, I widened my eyes. "Why? We just met not even 40 minutes ago." He was quiet for a moment. "You are interesting." He said softly before putting up the window and pulling away. I could only stand there and watch the car drive off with a bright smile on my face.

Warmth filled me when I opened the door to my apartment. My kitten meows as if she was saying, "You're back!" and ponders over to me. I pick her up and walk over to the couch. Hanji was a beautiful brown kitten with white spots adoring her fur. She licked my cheek and nuzzled into me with cute little purrs. I decided to shoot Eren a small text to let him know I wasn't going to just forget and blow him off. A little hello would suffice, I thought to myself. Almost immediately after, he texted me, "Coffee tomorrow? Possibly around 8 or 9?" Woah this man really did get to the point. "8 sounds good. As you can tell from earlier, I like to be up and about early." Some minutes passed before he responded. "Alright. I will pick you up at quarter to 8." He also added shortly after, "Have a splendid day Levi. Stay out of trouble!" I could only laugh, sending my regards. Black dots filled my vision as fatigue began to take over me and for the first time in a long time, I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
