Delilah Miller
I watch as Winter pulls a small box from his bag and begins to fiddle with the contents inside. I look away as more tears begin to fill my eyes. Why did I have to fall over? my favourite water bottle has broken and I made such a mess.
I think sadly before feeling warm but rough fingers gently pull my injured hand from its position on my lap. I watch his movements with tear filled eyes before wincing with pain when he begins to pull out a shard of broken glass from my palm.
"I'm so sorry, baby," he tells me with a look of guilt in his eyes. "you didn't deserve this."
I couldn't look at my injured hand so, I continued to stare at the teenage boy infront me. He looks so sweet with his dark black hair hanging messily over his forehead. I notice he is still breathing heavily, he got really angry in the dinner hall. I must admit I was frightened when Winter was hurting Jordan. I thought they were friends? I'm brought from my thoughts when I feel gently lips place a kiss on my bandaged hand
"All done. Good girl for being so brave, Delilah." Winter praises me. I feel my cheeks burning and so I look down at my hand, which he mended so carefully.
"T-Thank you Winter," I stutter out to him "why did you h-hurt Jordan?" I ask curiously.
He takes a deep breath before saying "He's not a good guy...he wanted to hurt you so I hurt him."
"Oh, why did he want to hurt me?"
"Because you are perfect, Delilah He wants you but he can't have you and he likes to break what he can't have! He stares at me intensely. "I won't let him break you, my little angel!" Suddenly, a knock sounds from the door.
"You kids better not be indecent when I open this door!" shouts an authoritative voice.
My eyes instantly widen as I become frozen with panic. Am I in trouble? Winter smiles at me before going over to the door and opening it to reveal our head master. My God Father.
"what's going on in- Delilah?" questions Maverick, my Fathers closest friend and my god Father.
"Hello Maverick! how is Cindy and little georgie?" I ask him with a big smile on my face. The anger leaves his face when he sees I am okay.
"They are doing well, my dear. Why are you in here?" He looks suspiciously at Winter.
"I fell over and broke my favorite water bottle that Cindy bought me." I look down sadly. "Oh! and I got some broken glass in my hand but W-Winter helped me make it better." I cheer back up as I look at Winter and see him watching me.
"You poor thing. don't worry about your bottle, Cindy can decorate you another one, dear." he promises me and I smile with excitement.
Cindy is Mavericks wife and my god mother. I have known her and Maverick since I was born and I love them so much. I would sleep over their house all the time and paint things with Cindy, since she is a wonderful painter. I still sleep over but not so often since I'm busy with so much school work. But I love when I get to stay over because I get to see little georgie who is their newborn son. I remember when he was born three months ago, I couldn't stop crying at how cute he was. when I got to hold I didn't even want to give him back to Cindy for his naptime.
"Thank you, Maverick!" I respond gratefully.
"If you aren't busy this weekend, come over and stay the weekend. we have missed you greatly, especially George" He tells me with a warm smiles which makes me giggle.
"I have missed you all too so much! I can't wait to come and stay!" The bell rings loudly signaling the end of the day.
"ah, I must leave. George has a checkup. Goodbye dear Delilah and to you Mr. Pheonix." He nods towards Winter before leaving.
