Summary: Kim Seokjin was the oldest prince of the Bangtan Sea, and when he came of age, his father, the king, wanted him to take over the throne.

However, Seokjin loved his freedom and didn't want to rule the kingdom, so the old king forced him to engage with his general Min Yoongi, who'd become the king instead, and Seokjin would be the bearer of his children and the future heirs.

Seokjin attempts to run away from the loveless marriage, and by the twist of events and the appearance a mysterious green-eyed merman, he lands in the arms of a banished and handsome merman named Kim Namjoon.

"Your highness, General Min is here to see you," his servant said with a bow once she entered his room after he gave her permission.

Seokjin sighed, rolling over on his bed, which was a giant pinkish- orange oyster shell, to lie on his stomach lazily. "Tell him to come in," he said, stretching.

"At once, your highness." The mermaid bowed again and turned to leave, swimming out of the Prince's room.

Once she was gone, Seokjin let out a huff, pushing himself up to sit gracefully on top his shell, holding himself up in a dignified manner. He tilted his head to one side and brushed his soft orange hair that fell over his eyes with his fingers, his beautiful turquoise tail stretched out before him, his golden and teal scales flashing gloriously in the dim room.

Seokjin was the Prince of the Bangtan Sea and also the only heir of the throne, and he was considered as the most beautiful merman who'd ever lived there. There wasn't a mermaid or merman in Bangtan who didn't love him both because of his beauty and kindness, and he had so many admirers who'd do anything to have his hand in marriage that they were uncountable in number. Unfortunately to their dismay, Seokjin had never been interested in anyone other than himself.

Seokjin was quite a bit of a narcissist, and took a great pleasure in admiring himself every chance he got in the big oval mirror in his room. His beauty was enough to take anyone's breath away, and his every perfect feature was the envy of many as well.

His orange hair was slightly long and more immaculate than the waves of the sea, skin pale and flawless without a single mark, face small and angular with rosy full cheeks, eyes bluer than the beautiful sky of the human world and deeper than the ocean, and his lips were plump and red, naturally pouty and luscious, and it was every young merman's and mermaid's dream to be able to kiss them. Seokjin's wide shoulders complimented his flat tummy and tiny waist, and nobody had a tail with as beautiful scales as him.

Seokjin was the first son of the king and was loved the most, but he grew up to be kind and humble, greeting everyone he met with a beautiful smile that left a permanent imprint in their hearts.

His father adored him and gave him the liberty to have a glimpse of the human world above the sea, though he wasn't allowed to be seen or be in human form.

The king hated human beings, and called them selfish, but he loved Seokjin so much that he let him go on his own and observe humans. Seokjin found humans really strange and interesting, but he loved the sea better, and he'd overheard many stories about merpeople that were made up by humans, and he was amused by how they differed so much from what his kind really was like.
