No, I love you

Butters immediately sprinted out of the house with no hesitation.

It was raining, the ground was slick and the grass was muddy- he didn't care.

He swerved corners while taking huge steps, the fastest he had ever ran.

His feet slid to the side as he slipped in a puddle, falling to his knees. The rain started to pour harder. He had to make it. He skidded up to his feet and continued running.

He came to a sudden halt and squinted through the thick layers of rain. He managed to make out a few buildings.. the camp.

He didn't know where Bradley lived. He didn't know where he would be. This was his only chance.

He ran to the front of the camp looking around frantically. He yanked the handle to the door as hard as he could. Locked.

"BRADLEY!" Butters screamed out, his only response being his own echo from what felt like an empty void.

He dropped to the ground.

"Bradley.."

The tears had caught up with him now. They filled his eyes and spilled down his face, blending in with the rain droplets. If only he had known. If only he had understood what Bradley was trying to tell him the entire time.

I'm so stupid.

The longer he cried, the longer the realization hit that he would never see Bradley again. His palms fell to the soaked ground as his blurred vision shook. He squeezed his eyes shut.

.....

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder

He flinched from the sudden contact and turned his head back.

"BRADLEY?"

Butters stood up, throwing his arms around Bradley and began sobbing in his arms.

Bradley hugged him back, surprised.

Butters sniffled in his shirt, trying to collect himself as he brought his head up to look at him.

"I love you."

"What?!"

"I said I love you."

"Oh yeah, you're a great guy Butters. I love you too.. as my friend."

"No,"

Bradley looked at him confused.

"I love you."

He stood up taller in Bradley's arms and kissed him

As their lips connected, Bradley's eyes grew wide, wider than Butters's eyes during their first kiss at the park. He stood in shock for a few more moments, before slowly fluttering his eyes shut and kissing him back. After a moment, Butters pulled away, smiling.

Bradley seemed to feel the voices stop. Everything that once told him he was a monster, and that this was wrong, felt so far away. He didn't feel as if he needed to say Bible verses and ask for God's forgiveness. He didn't believe this would bring him to hell. He knew this was right where he was supposed to be.

"I love you too."

Butters smile turned onto a full face grin as he quickly pulled Bradley closer into a hug, squeezing him tightly.

They held each other for a few more moments, letting the rain continue to soak in their hair and clothes.

Bradley let go of the embrace, taking Butters by the hand.

"Let's go home."
