Background Information: Nanami Michishio is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michishio. She is also the younger twin sister of Nagasumi Michishio and wife of Sun Seto.

Unlike her brother, Nanami is considered/treated as the perfect/golden child/special by everyone around her (most noticeably by Gozaburo Seto, Maki, and Lunar Edomae). She is also a very popular student in school, as all the guys are madly in love with her and wish of steal her away from both Sun Seto and Lunar Edomae (most noticeably Hideyoshi Sarutobi and Kai Mikawa).

However, all the girls are jealous and envy her for stealing all the boys attention and unintentionally starting a war between the factions of Lunar and Sun (as pointed out by Mawari Zenigata and the rest of the disciplinary committee). Despite this, she doesn't let that get into her head and protects her brother from the constant torment by those that dislike/hate him.

During a Family Vacation at the Seto Inland Sea, Nagasumi and Nanami both nearly drowned to death until they were saved by Sun Seto. After that, the twins and their family learned about the Seto Gang and the Mermaid/Merman Law, which states that upon learning their true identity, either the human or the mermaid must be executed.

To avoid this, it is suggested that a marriage is the best solution, so they offer up Nanami to become the bride of Sun. Since then, Nanami decided to help her brother face his fears and Nagasumi, in return, also helps his sister take on the responsibility of taking care of Sun as her husband.

Although, it doesn't make it easy on the two due to almost everyone in the Seto group (except Ren Seto (Sun's mother) and Masa) who are against their union (though obviously for different reasons). As the series progresses, however, Nanami does truly falls in love with Sun, and when she gets kidnapped and saved from the perverted noble named, Yoshiuo Minamoto by Sun, Nanami finally confesses her love to him and the two seal their love with a kiss.
