"Evanna? Evanna?"

I looked to see where the voice came from. It was dark and I couldn't see a thing. A light appeared before my eyes and then it was gone. I looked to see a car in the distance. The lights were blinking on and off. The car was in ruins. It looked to have been in a wreck. I walked towards it and as I got closer, I realized who the car belonged too. I ran towards it but then it seemed to get further and further away. The voice kept calling out my name as I raced towards the car. Suddenly, the car went up in flames and I had to shield my face from the fire. A woman walked out of the flames and walked towards me. Her face was bloody and she looked to be hurt. I recognized her face. It was Caroline. Her clothes were burned and torn. She had blood all over her legs and arms. Her face looked to be severely burned.

"Evanna? Why didn't you save me? Why didn't you save me, Evanna? We could have had it all. We were best friends but you let me die. And for what? For him? A man you barely knew? Why did you let me die, Evanna? Why did you kill me, Evanna?"

"No, no. I'm sorry. I never meant for this to happen. Caroline, please."

"Evanna, you killed me. You killed me. You killed me."

I crouched down and covered my head as she got closer. I cried out hoping she would leave. But she just kept getting closer and wouldn't stop repeating 'you killed me' over and over again. I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

"Evanna? Evanna? Evanna?!"

I jolted awake, catching my breath. It was a horrible nightmare. I had been having those a lot lately. After Caroline's passing, I had nightmares every night. They subsided for many years but in the last few weeks, they came back and it was ruining my life. I looked to see who had shaken me awake. The hand and the voice calling out my name belonged to Joe. I looked at him and lay back down in the bed.

"Another nightmare?"

I nodded and he pulled me close. I cuddled up in his arms.

"It was Caroline again. She kept saying that I killed her."

"What happened to her wasn't your fault, baby girl."

"I know. I just...can't stop having nightmares about it."

"Maybe you need to do what everyone has suggested."

I pulled away and sat up in bed, suddenly angry at the suggestion. "No, no way. I'm not going to see a therapist. I'm going to walk in there and they are going to judge me. Then they will give me some medicine to 'help me' when in reality, the pills will just be a bunch of tic tacs in bottle. I will handle it myself."

He laughed and sat up to. He put his arm around me and pulled me close. "First of all, they won't be tic tacs. And secondly, I really do think talking to a therapist will help you. There is only so much that I can do. A therapist might give you something that could actually help you, sweetheart. These nightmares are getting worse every night. You toss and turn. You sweat so bad that you feel like you have been in extreme heat. You barely get any sleep and I hate to see how much pain this is putting you through. You need to see someone about this."

I sighed. "Ok, fine. But one word of judgment from them and I am gone."

He lay back down. "Thank you. Now, let's try and get some more sleep."

I soon heard Joe start to snore several minutes later. I tried to fall back asleep but all I could see behind my eyes was the nightmares once again. I sighed and crawled out of bed. I got something to drink and went outside to get some fresh air. The cool wind hit my face it felt really nice.

"Momma?"

I turned around to see Carol in the doorway, rubbing her eyes as she looked at me.

"Hey, sweet pea. What are you doing up?"
