"Caden! Get your ass on the boat or else we're leaving!" I yell from the bridge of Ford and I's boat.
Nate starts untying the knot from the dock, which instantly makes Caden sprint towards us hysterically laughing.
"You're a real asshole, Renna." Caden says jumping on and nudging at my shoulder.
"Right back at you, Tanner." I reply tipping my beer bottle towards him.
"Where we heading cap?" Sophie yells down to Ford from the upper level.
"Catalina Island, baby!" Ford yells back.
Since as long as I can remember, us five have been inseparable. We've lived in Carlsbad, California our whole lives and have been so inseparable, people mistakes us as siblings.
Ford, my brother, is the most laid back person you will most likely ever come across. Caden is CBad's biggest partier and is always down for a good time, while Nate makes sure nobody rips each other's heads off.
The guys have equally always been super protective of Soph and I, they've all received the 'older brother' label- besides Caden, sometimes I forget he's older than me with how immature and crazy he can get.
"What are you guys jumping up and down for?" Soph asks walking up to us and sitting on the tanning chair next to me.
We clink our bottles and laugh in unison as the guys go ballistic over Soph's question.
"Did you seriously just ask that?" Caden questions, laughing and grabbing a drink from the cooler.
"Not the brightest question, Dyl." Ford adds kicking his feet up on the dash as he steers the boat.
"Jack will be here in T-minus-" Nate pauses to look at his non existing watch before continuing. "Thirty-six hours, twenty-two minutes, and thirty-seven seconds!" He exclaims.
Last summer, Ford, Caden and Nate, all met Jack Cameron, at extended lifeguard training in Santa Monica. After begging, Miles, Soph's Dad and head Lifeguard, they finally convinced him to let Jack be stationed here at Harbor Beach.
Though I'm pretty sure Caden and Ford are only lifeguards for girls attention- they have a lot of fun, and Soph and I get free access to the ATV's, so it's a win-win.
Soph and I have also yet to meet Jack, but we're eager to because the guys won't shut up about him. The guys claim they won't let us meet him because they want to keep work and their home life separate, but we all know it's because Jack Cameron is a certified heartbreaker.
A few hours of drinking and laughing later we finally tie off at the docks in Catalina Island. The group and I try coming here as often as we can. The cool air washing over us as we get to enjoy food and each other's company surround by the Pacific Ocean is the best get-a-way from our busy college lives.
"Where are all the hot boys at?" Soph yells jumping onto the dock giggling.
"Nice try, Dylan. If a man goes near you he's dead meat." Caden says patting Soph on the shoulder.
"Oh come on, you guys aren't any fun." Soph replies swatting Caden's hand away and rolling her eyes.
"We're lots of fun." Nate says grabbing my hand and helping me on to the dock with everyone else.
"Yeah right." I reply rolling my eyes.
Soph and I have dated a few guys here and there but Nate, Caden, and Ford always end up scaring them off. Three, six-foot-two men, constantly guarding us, I wouldn't want to date us either.
Honestly it's nice having body guards every where we go, not having to worry about creepy old men hitting on us or things getting slipped into our drinks at bars. But it would be nice to mess around with a few guys every now and then.
