The brain's capacity is unknown. "For scientists, the 'Placebo Effect' is still a big question that needs scientific explanations. Placebo Effect is what happens when a patient is given a placebo, a supplement or drug that does nothing in your body, and miraculously cures the patient. Is that because of the human brain recognizing placebo as a 'helpful medicine' that cures but in the reality does nothing? Of course, the doctor isn't stupid to tell his patient that what he recommended is a placebo. This proves that the human brain can do such things we do not expect. A proof that the brain's abilities are infinite. That it does not have any limits. It just needs the right situation to open another door to overcome its limits." This is what Rigel Alberona, a grade 9 scholar in Philippine Science High School - Ilocos Region Campus, typed in his 'Notes' on his iPhone. A curious teenager that always listens to music.
Rigel is a 'nerd' scholar. Nowadays, the definition of nerd is handsome, smart, cool, and would have the best job in the future that can pass rich person's standards. He is a Director's Lister back when he was Grade 7 and 8 and still aiming for this school year. A member of the prestigious 'Top 10' title in their batch as he excels in science and humanities subjects. This scholar is really different. When he needs informations about a certain topic he is interested, he'd ask his teacher several times until he got satisfaction in his mind. That's why he hates teachers that replies "Research for that and it would be your assignment." There was the feeling of rejection and it discourages him to ask more questions. And because of that, he became silent and types every idea he has on his mind.
Despite of being nerd, he is a big fan of music. And it's a rare genre of music that a nerd boy can actually like. It's Korean Pop Music or Kpop for short. During free time, there's earphones always plugged into his ears. Listening and listening to the music that he loves. A 16 year old being a fan boy to Kpop groups yet he cannot even understand what the lyrics mean.
A proud dormer inside their school campus despite of him being stagy. He is an anti-idiot person that's why he always watches videos in youtube in their dormitory. Hybrid Librarian and Top Tens are his favorites. Of course, SMTOWN and other Kpop related too. He watches dances that makes his body move because dancing is his stress reliever. Weird to think but this boy got some moves specially when it comes to the Kpop scene. When Last Song Syndrome hits him, he watches the music video and memorizes the dance steps and later on, dance like he'a a Kpop rookie! Even just walking alone, the music plays in his mind and unknowingly, he dances.
Also, he is the Vice President of the Student Alliance which is the student body in their campus. Ever since Grade 7, he is an officer not because of his leadership but because of his popularity. Molded by fellow officers, he kinda became a good leader. The nerd boy isn't just for academics and leadership stuff, he can play badminton, volleyball, table tennis, and basketball too. He can play but not that good at them. He can just play. Thinking about it, he wanted to play basketball because he was inspired by Kuruko's story. What a kind of boy. Being moved by an anime story. He really is a one of a kind teenager.
The almost-perfect-boyfriend-material boy has burdens despite of being a nerd. Burdens that can shut him down every time he thinks about them. Every single time.
