Writing isn't an easy thing. Especially when you're blind. I've had to learn a whole new way to do things. I can't read or write the same way(had to learn Brallie). Luckily, someone came up with a genius idea of making a Brallie keyboard, which is how I'm able to type now. Let me get one thing straight, I wasn't born blind. I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and in order to remove it, they had to take out my eyes. I used to be able to see everything, every color and shape. Now I can't see anything. The only time I can even remotely see is when it rains. Dispite all the new ajustments to my life, not everthing has changed. My little sister (Jessica) is still as sweet as ever,my parents and friends don't treat me any different. Well, I just have one friend now. I used to have so many friends, used to be popular. I used to be in a band with my best friend since preschool, Augustus Waters. Unfortunately, he's passed away after the cancer in his leg (he got that leg removed) we thought was gone actually spread throughout his body. I miss him every day. I can still see his smile in my mind. He was the greatest friend I could ever have. (RIP my brother) I took him to a support group before I got my surgery. He'd been cancer free for a while but he still wanted to come with me. I knew that on that day it wasn't going to be any ordinary meeting. On that day he met the first and the last love of his life. Hazel Grace Lancaster. This story I'm about to tell you is about Hazel and my adventures without Gus.(The feels are gonna be so real) It is however filled with action, loss, friendship, possible love and yes...even hope. So please sit back and relax as I tell you our story. Okay? ...okay.
