*BEEP* * BEEP* *BEEP*

As I hear the beeping sound in the far distance I slowly open my eyes and get up to silence that gosh darn alarm clock.

I yawn as I do a quick stretch, "It's already morning huh?". My cat, Mish Mish yawns and slowly stands up before he approaches me, meowing 'good morning' and licking my face. I laugh, "Well good morning to you too, handsome!". We enjoy our slow morning together.

"Hey, what do you say if we get breakfast now Mish Mish?" My cat happily meows and lifts his head in response.

When the sun slowly rises from the back of the hills and shines throughout the entire city I enter through the front door and slip out of my shoes to head upstairs for a quick shower.

It became a routine of mine to go running every day in the morning whether it be at the park or around the neighborhood for training like dad suggested. Hence, it's a habit of mine to shower after my morning run to cool off some steam and feel freshened up.

During the process, I hear a faint sound of scratching outside the bathroom door, must be Mish Mish waiting for me.

When I open the door as expected he's waiting right at the doorway with those big eyes and cute little legs, signifying he missed me with his talkative meows.

I bend my knees and cup his little face in my hands. "Aww poor guy, did you miss me long? I'm gonna change right away and I'll meet you in the kitchen, alright?" Mish Mish purrs in my arms, responds with a meow understandingly, and then goes downstairs.

I head to my room and pick out fresh clothes out of the closet to finish dressing up. I pick out a hair clip to clip a few hair strands neatly to avoid it being a distraction to me while cooking. A smile creeps in as I look at my figure in the mirror and I go downstairs to start making breakfast and lunch bentos.

Hearing the door shutting and opening upstairs signifies dad finally woke up and he later joins us in the kitchen.

"Today's the day you will give away your position right, Hiko?" Dad asks me to make sure if it is today or not.

"Mhm,  that's right" I nod in affirmation.

"Quite a harsh truth, but I'm sure you'll optimize it and spend that time on school and training, dear. You have a bright future ahead of you."

"I know dad, you don't have to mention it." I say with a laugh. "Everything is going well for me, but what I'm most concerned about is you. Is it really necessary at your age to work at a desk job all day?" You respond half-jokingly.

"If my daughter is working hard I have to work hard too. Retiring would mean I'll be at home all day with so much time but  nothing to do." My dad chuckles as he ends the sentence.

"I understand you love your hero agency office and all, but you should consider retiring in the recent years. You deserve the rest and thankfully Grandma will be staying with us too. She said she'll start living with us next month when school starts." I say knowing dad will surely now switch to a different topic or conclude this conversation because he doesn't want to give in.

"I'll note that down honey. The office is waiting for me, so I'm going to leave now. Have a great day today." He heads out of the kitchen with his bento.

"Good luck with work, dad!" I shout out and the day simply goes on.

The "job position" my dad mentioned was not a simple 9 to 5 nor a part-time job. It was pretty complex and more strange than that: It's a role given to a person in every ten million people to be a helping angel, as the bridge between the living and the dead. They're responsible for helping ghosts or the deceased who are wandering around the earth with unfulfilled business.

It is a secret not told to many, only my blood relatives of my dad's side and my close friends know this. It's like a mission you are assigned to do, but it was now time to give away this role to focus on becoming a hero.

I enter through a dimly litted portal, engulfing me to a place where I've been only a few times in the past. Infront of me lies a big white building in a white space filled with many blurred faces roaming around on every floor.

These people's faces are blurred because you're a human, so the scenery is generally blurred and blinded to you. I meet up with some people, finishing what I came here for and promise to keep it all as a secret.

On my way to leave I notice my friends in the corner of my eyes who are waving at me with bright smiles on their faces. It was your fellow helping-angel boys who are also human, doing this job as it is related to their quirks. They both live in Korea, so it was a lucky chance to run into them today.

"Already leaving huh, Hiko? If we didn't spot you we could've never met each other again." One of them says jokingly.

"You know I would never do that. I can't ghOst you my entire life" I say mockingly. You guys burst out laughing at the joke as if it was true.

"Nice one, Hiko. Can't forget that one." The other boy comments while trying to stop his laughter.

After a few chit-chat with them I end our conversation by, "Welp don't miss me that much you guys, you could text me or send a little ghost messenger" now with open arms and they join you for a big warm hug. It was always fun with these boys around, making jokes and laughing at them hysterically. I bid them goodbye and leave through the portal.

Without anything out of the ordinary, the day goes by and I head up to bed with Mish Mish at night. I think about the UA exam one last time and slowly drift off to slumber.
