Elio

"Elio?" Annella whispers walking into Elio's room. He's curled up in his bed, headphones on but the music long gone. It has almost been a year since they last saw Oliver and one week until Oliver gets married.

The only way Annella would ever be able to tell that Elio was even alive was his very (and i mean very) quiet reply.

"Elio, Oliver called. He asked us to be at his wedding, we won't go if you don't want to but please think about it"

This got Elio up straight away, he'd do anything to see Oliver again. But seeing Oliver would hurt him more than anything, however, them saying no would hurt Oliver more than anything.

So he'll go. He will try and forget last summer try and forget the feelings he had once felt for the man and pretend, pretend that everything is alright. Pretend that the last 5 months haven't been pure torture, pretend he didn't think that if he just never called to tell them that he was getting married everything would have been better than not saying anything at all.

Elio stood up new found energy in his system, he changed into new clean clothes and dragged himself downstairs being greeted by his parents outside who were eating fruit picked freshly from the garden.

"Ahh Elio I'm happy that you are to finally join us!" Samuel grins before continuing, "has your mother told you about the phone call yet?" He didn't mean to be rude, he knew what Oliver had made him feel. Hell, he knew how the phone call made him feel seeing him again could cause more problems than necessary.

"Yeah mum told me, I think we should go unless you guys don't want to-" Elio said yes it's what he wanted, he wants to be there for Oliver even if he wasn't there for him but they all knew it will either go very well or very badly.

Day before the wedding

Elio had packed his backpack ready for the few days he will be away. 6 hours until he would make it to New England, 7 hours until he will see Oliver again. The man who changed everything for Elio then left him.

By the time they made it to the train station the train was already there waiting for them. Well technically it was just early but to the Perlman family every sign felt like it was pointing in the direction of Oliver and his "soon to be" wife.

The six hour train ride felt faster than ever Elio had never left the county before so this was new to him, he was excited about it but the fear of seeing Oliver's face again haunts him. He pulls at the threads on his jumper as he checks the time for the fiftieth time. 2 hours left on the train, 3 hours left until he sees Oliver again.

"Elio my darling boy get some rest, you'll need it for later" Annella whispers as to not wake up Samuel next to her.

"It's not worth it I won't be able to mum..." Elio responds getting a 'just please try' in reply. Giving in Elio sleeps for the next two hours dreaming of how this meeting could go.

Five minutes,  Elio sits next to his mum in the taxi regretting his choice to go to the wedding, he'd much rather be sitting at home right now rather than this.

Four minutes,  Elio tries to distract himself by listening to music, things he knows of by heart, things that bring him joy but in this moment they couldn't seem to.

Three minutes,  Annella grabs his hand massaging it slowly attempting to calm him down from the peak he was at in that moment.

Two minutes,  having a meltdown now would mean Oliver would have to see him right after one, it's became the only thing that stops him from curling in on himself. The taxi driver would've had to just get over it really.

One minute,  they pull into a large drive. Seeing the house in the distance and the door opening and seeing the tall blond man who ruined him life with three words but saved his world months before with another three words.

Now,

"Oliver!" Annella and Samuel yelled cheerfully both with huge grins on their faces getting the same in response. Elio didn't want to leave the car but he's not being a prick so he does. The second his parent head to the door Elio steps out the car saying goodbye to the driver, he walks over to Oliver with the most monotonous expression he could create.

"Oliver..." Oliver mumbles receiving a nod in return from Elio before he follows his parents inside.

This will be a long three days...
