We walked toward some carriages and I nudged Nico. "What are those horse type thing?" He rolled his eyes and ignored me, pushing past me and choosing to pet a horse (thingy).

"Hello you beautiful thestral." he softly spoke, not even glancing in my direction. "These horse type things oh horse lord are thestrals who can only be seen by those who have seen death."

"Neeks c'mon! Don't be like that!" I whined. Guess he was pissed on the whole me standing up for him act.

"I have seen things." He slowly started. "I definitely don't need a savior to help me." He turned around and got into a carriage.

"Perseus Jackson this is all your fault! Now we have to sit with these stuck ups."

"Wha-" I was at a loss for words. How is this my fault!"

We piled onto the carriage with the golden trio and Harry hmphed at us. Not my fault! We don't even wanna be with you.

He snottily turned to us and had the nerve to say, "What have you dim witted American transfers done to see the horses? Get out of a paper bag or something?"

Nico was seething but I knew we couldn't blow our cover. I gently lowered my hand onto his clenched fist, pushing it down.

"It's not worth it..."I spoke in Greek. The frizzy haired one snapped to attention. "What language was that? I've never heard it." She narrowed her eyes.

"Why does it matter?" I said at the same time Nico said, "Greek." I pinched my nose in frustration. "Wow thanks for blowing our cover!" I said.

He just smiled sheepishly and said sorry. The carriage rolled to a stop and holy Hades the architecture was breathtaking. Huh, I guess I did learn something from wise girl.

"First years this way!" a crisp voice cut out.

"That's a half giant" Nico hissed. I turned and took a closer look.

"He looks friendly enough I guess...we'll keep an eye on him though." I said under my breath. We took a boat to the front gates with me assuring Nico he was fine.

"My father won't strike down the boat with me on it, promise! Plus he loves you." Nico threw me a disbelieving glare. "Okay fine, he doesn't hate you!"

We huddled in with some 11 and 12 year olds. Finally the doors opened with a great creak and we all shuffled into a corner. A hat, yes a fucking HAT, began to sing. We but that's my life.

The hat called up names one by one and I almost missed my name. Thanks the gods Nico pushed me towards the right direction or that would've been embarrassing.

Jackson, Perseus.

"It Percy" I muttered but my voice blended in with the commotion.

Ah a demigod. Haven't had one of your kind in a while. Let's see...please put down your mental barriers. I shook my head signaling it was a bad idea but did it anyway. The hat was witnessing all of his past. The stuff he had shoved away in hopes of forgetting.

Suddenly the hat dropped to the ground not moving. One minute became two, then two became three. Professor Mcgonagall nudged the hat. It twitched for a while before croaking out, GRYFFINDOR!

He awkwardly shuffled to the gold and red table as people weakly cheered. Percy had come to terms with his own failures and memories but he knew Nico still held deep regrets. Hopefully those memories wouldn't cause problems. Right...?
