I walk into my room, shut the door, and sit on my bed.

how stupid can they be?  We all know how she is. She won't reject him, she'll just be all nice bcause she knows how rejection feels and wouldn't want to make someone feel that way.

*knock knock*
"Jaden? can I come in?" I hear my mom ask.
"yes" I replied.
She comes in and sits at the edge of my bed.
"I heard you yell from downstairs...What's up?"
"it's nothing" said as I grab my phone.
"Is it Ava?"
"No!" oh shit I didn't mean to yell  "sorry...it's not about Ava"
"Y/n?" she asks sympathetically
I nod "jayla and javon didn't seem to care about how a boy she's hanging out with right now would possibly make a move on her."
"Jaden...why are you so worried about a boy making a move on y/n? you have a girlfriend."
"No mom, of course I know I have a girlfriend. that's not what I'm getting at. I just don't want y/n to get hurt again, because I know we all remember how that went."
"Yes I know but we all love y/n and we know she can take care of herself. But if it comes down to it and she gets hurt then you will be there for her...we all will."
"Mom, she's my bestfriend and seeing her hurt makes me hurt."
"I know but this is y/n's life and you just have to let her live it her way."
"I just don't want her to get hurt."
"I know...but she'll be okay." as she stands up. "if you need me, I'll be in the kitchen. as she walks out.
"okay" as I grab my phone, text Ava back, and text y/n.

After I sent it, I started scrolling on tiktok.
I don't even know what I'm gonna even talk to her about but she's my bestfriend and I haven't talked to her in a while so it works out perfectly.

|| 10 minutes later ||

Daelo walks into the room. "Jaden, you wanna play fortnite with me?"
"yeah sure" I hop on as daelo grabs his stuff. He joins my party and we start playing.

- Y/n's pov -

After we went to go get food, we went cruising...just driving around. And I get a notification.

I tap him and show him the text. "this you?" he nods and I start to add him as a contact.

"Yo Marcus, we should go to (name) park" Maika says making me look up from my phone.
"ohh yeah yeah okay." and starts driving in the park's direction.

I look back at my phone and go onto Instagram, going through stories. Then I get a text from Jaden. I was about to open it when Jen pulls my attention away from my phone.
"y/n/n, what you wanna do?"
"huh? what do you mean?"
"did you miss the conversation? what do you wanna do at the park?"
How did I not hear them talking?
"oh, I don't care what we do."
"ohh okay. we can just walk around."
