The Spider-verse HQ was a huge base.
It was filled with all sorts of different Spider-men.
They were all the same, yet again...they weren't.Recently, everything started to feel weird.
You started to lose yourself as you noticed yourself doing...unatural things.
Things that were beyond normal. That's when you met the Spider-verse...and all the other Spider-men which you thought wouldn't be possible.
Hobie has brought you here to make contact with one Spider-man...a Spider-man that was in charge of everything in this base.
You walked through the base in your black puffer jacket along with Hobie. Both Hobie and you were just in casual clothes without the Spider-man suit.
Your Jordans stepped on the steel-like floor as you looked around. Plenty of different people were staring at you, so you couldn't really help but stare back with furrowed eyebrows.
Why were they doing that? Was it the casual clothes? Maybe.
"Ay, man, don't worry about them. They're probably jealous of yer bloody Jordans." Hobie laughed as he nudged your shoulder playfully.
You really couldn't help but laugh back. It felt like all of the stares disappeared for a brief second. "Hah...maybe." looking down, you noticed the floor's color change.
It started to be become a quite dark blue color unlike the white one it was before.
Then, you look up as you started to see a ton of trapped villains. It caught you by a surprise, really.
Your mouth went a little gape as you stared at the angered creatures."Yo, I remember seeing this guy!" Hobie laughed once again as he approached the monster. You watched Hobie make fun of the creature as you chuckled at the sight.
To be honest, you weren't a well expirienced Spider-man. It was hard to control some of your powers.
...well, most of them.
Since you met Hobie, you knew you could trust him with your whole heart about that feeling. He helped you as much as he could...you were beyond thankful for it.
When he couldn't really do much anymore, he mentioned a man named Miguel O'hara.Hobie said he was some sort of a "master" at those things...and that he acted like a monarch.
Finally, you decided to look around the place on your own.
Turning around, you saw something else now.It was a man with quite a muscular back and slicked back hair. His hands were clenched into a fist along with all of his muscles...they seemed so tense. He semeed to be looking at some weird floating screens that were surrounding him.
Were you going to speak up? Greet him?
Pretty soon, Hobie walked up next to you as he whispered: "Yeah, that's him."You turned to him with furrowed brows, then back at the man. "Uhh...Miguel? Him?" Hobie nodded at that.
He gave you a small push foward as a sign to go greet Miguel.
When he did so, you looked back at him. Uncertainty filled your eyes as you chewed the inside of your cheek."You sure about this, man?" Pushing your shoulders back, you heard your back crack a little. You were really goddamn nervous.
"Yep" Hobie answered "I mean...he might seem mean but, trust me...he'll help you." suddenly, he turned around and started to walk away, leaving you and Miguel alone.
You turned to the man in front of you as you started to walk towards him slowly. "Uhh...hello?" your voice raised a little as you tilted your head a little to the side.
Miguel's head raised from all sorts of the screens he was looking at. Then, his gaze met yours. His, almost red, eyes met yours.
"Who are you?" he spoke up, seeing you still walk towards him. His tall body was now fully turned towards yours."Um...Spider-man?" you cringed at your own self as you said that. "From...my type of an Earth? A different universe? Like, I'm the onl-"
"Shush, you're making it worse. I'm asking you for your name." Miguel interrupted you.You already felt like you fucked up...a lot.
You told him your name as you finally got close enough to the man so he can hear you properly without any yelling and voice raising.
"Mhh..." he hummed "Who sent you here?"
"My buddy Hobi-" as you turned around, he was nowhere to be seen. You sighed and looked around even more.A disappointed sigh came out of Miguel too as he held the bridge of his nose: "Alright...can you tell me why you're here?"
Turning back to the man, you avoided eye contact. It felt like that man was at least ten times stronger than you.If looks could kill, you'd be dead.
"One more Spider-man sent me here and..." you sighed quietly "it's just...I'm not really good at all of this stuff. I'm...new."
Miguel, unlike you, barely looked at your eyes as you stared at the floor with a sad-like look."Since when do you know that you're...well, Spider-man?" he questioned as he lowered himself to look at you in the eyes better...since you were pretty much staring everywhere but his eyes...or just him in general really.
Finally you looked at him: "For like...a month?"
Miguel let out a satisfied hum as he nodded at your words. "Fine, if you want me to teach you a little, I'll need you to be cooperative, okay?" He said.
Since you were so eager for it, you nodded: "Alright...deal."
Awkwardly, you stuck your hand out towards Miguel for a handshake. The second you did it, you regret it.He looked at your hand, then back at you, then back at the hand again. No matter the awkwardness, he still took your hand and grabbed it tightly.
"I'm sorry if I'm wasting your ti-" "You're not. No worries, mijo." Miguel jumped it and let go of your hand.
You really couldn't help but smile...and somehow blush?
It meant the world for you that someone like Miguel was going to "train" you.And you were goddamn ready for it.
