I waited for Em to walk away from Devan but they held hands for most of the time we were at the theme park. Rebecca looked like she wanted rip Em's head off. She's clearly not over Devan yet. I later overheard Rebecca talking to Avia and Avalyn behind the girls bathroom when I was about go into the boys bathroom.
"So are they, like, together now?" Avia asked.
"It looks like it," Rebecca said through clenched teeth. "We only broke up five weeks ago and he's already over me?"
"He's probably not over you," Avia comforted Rebecca. "I bet Em's just a rebound girl. She has nothing on you!"
"Are you kidding? She's way hotter than me! She's so skinny and pretty. She's literally the perfect combination of cute and sexy!" she started sobbing into her hands.
"Dude, get over him already. He's not even that great," Avalyn rolled her eyes as she lit a cigarette.
"You smoke?" Rebecca asked.
"Not usually, but my vape died and I stole this from some chicks purse."
Rebecca scoffed. "I can't even believe you too are related, let alone twins."
Avia shrugged. "Sometimes I wonder if she was switched at the hospital and we just happen to look alike."
"Anyway," Avalyn threw her cigarette on the concrete. "You need a rebound guy. You're, like, obsessed with Devan. Would if you hit on Kody? He's single and hot."
"Nah. Besides, Devan and Em's relationship won't last long. She's too weak to handle a guy like Devan. He'll break her within a week, guaranteed," Rebecca stated as they walked out from behind the restroom.
I quickly ran inside the boys bathroom so they wouldn't see me. When we left the theme park and got back into the car, I couldn't resist asking.
"Em, are you and Devan together now?" I asked.
She grinned. "Yes, he asked me on the Ferris wheel."
"I figured. Good for you, Em. A lot of girls at school would give their right arm for him to even compliment them." I noticed Rebecca and my mom walking over to the car. "But be careful with Rebecca. Her and Devan broke up five weeks ago. That's why she hates you so much."
She nodded as Rebecca got into the car. She gave Em a glare that said,"If you say one fucking word to me, I will throw you out of this car while it's on the highway."
The car ride back was completely silent. I watched Em read her book. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. Shit. I like her, I totally like her.
