"Why do you keep staring at me?" The man called out.

Joker jumped in his seat. He did not think he was looking at him for that long. His eyes darted around the dining room before settling them on the man. He cleared his throat to calm his nerves but it did not help as much. Then, he exhaled softly.

"I-I'm sorry, Mr..." Joker stammered.

"Orpheus. That's my name. Well, my pen name due to my publishing contract. Moving on, I appreciate the apology but..." Orpheus said before leaning towards Joker close enough that he could feel his hot breath. "You didn't answer my question."

Joker gulped. He shifted his seat away from Orpheus before looking at him. His eyes held a cunning look in them. His smile was void of any awkwardness. Joker rubbed his neck. He really should stop thinking so much when he was talking to people.

"W-Well, I couldn't h-help myself...My eyes were just d-drawn to you so blame it on them." Joker crossed his arms.

Orpheus chuckled. He moved his wooden chair a bit closer to Joker. He seemed like an interesting person. He felt an inkling to get to know him more. Although, he was not sure why he wanted to. He held his hand out to the red-haired gentleman.

"It's nice to meet you. And you are?" Orpheus asked.

Joker smiled and shook his hand, "It's Joker."

Orpheus held down his urge to laugh. What kind of parents name their child Joker? The urge to laugh was too much that he had to covered his mouth. Joker furrowed his eyebrows.

"I know you want to laugh. Go ahead."

"N-No..." Orpheus managed to mutter.

"Just laugh already." Joker cracked a smile.

A few short seconds later, Orpheus laughed. After that, he hid his face in his arms in shame.

"I'm sorry for laughing. I didn't think your name would be like that. I half expected your name to be Bob or David." Orpheus spoked.

Joker shook his head. He could not help but smile.

"It's fine. I'm used to it."

Orpheus smiled, "Let me make it up to you. I could tell you about my new book. Would you like that?"

Joker giggled, "Sure. I love hearing stories. But not this afternoon, I have to meet Marge."

Orpheus' smile widened, "Great. Meet me at my room in the evening then."

Joker nodded before leaving Orpheus with a bright smile on his face.
