Olivia Jackson's POV
"Hey, Neeks," I came up behind him and hugged him from behind. He stiffened until he realized it was me. "Hey, Olives," he turned in my arms and I let go. I could tell by looking at him that he was sad. "Thinking about Bianca," it came out more as a statement more than a question. He nodded and brushed some of my brown and blue streaked bangs away from my left eye. "I don't know why you cover it," he said referring to my eyes. "You know why, everyone stares," I said frowning. "I like it. How many people do you know with a green right eye and a silver left eye? None because it makes you unique," Nico told me. I rolled my eyes, "Stop changing the subject Nico. Tell me what's bothering you."
Nico leaned against the railing of the balcony at the big house. He looked over camp at the other campers.
"It would've been her birthday tomorrow," he said. I could tell he was upset. I wrapped an arm around his waist leaning against the railing too. "I miss her," he told me. "I know," I said. I look at him sideways. "She'd be proud of who you've become, Neeks." Nico still didn't look me in the eye. I took off my black beanie and sat it on his head. He finally looked at me and smiled softly. "You two were totally opposites. You wore converse, she wore biker boots. You wore leggings and she wore jeans. Yet the two of you were inseparable."
I brushed some hair from his eyes, "Yeah. But look at me and you. You wear black and I wear colorful clothes." Nico finally gave me one of his rare grins.
"Except the leggings." I smiled back and looked over the camp, tightening my hold on his waist. "Except the leggings," I murmured.
