Isabella's POV

Dear journal,

Prom night is here and I couldn't be more happy to have my best friend by my side. We've been dreaming about this day since we became freshman in highschool, and now the night is finally here!

But one thing has changed, we we're supposed to go together but she got a date last second. It made a dent in our plans but that's okay, as long as he... Treats her right then we won't have a problem.

Anyways, I heard Alex huff that I'm taking forever to write this entry so I better get going. Xoxo.

I don't even have to look up to see her glare between me and my journal. She knows that I need to write down everything to keep my mental health in check. I click my pen as I close my journal, not being bothered in the slightest. "He's almost here." Alex says.

This gets me to finally look up at her, she's standing at the end of my bed looking at her phone, it looks like she's reading a message. So there texting now. Yay. But other than that, she looks amazing in her two peice red dress, along with the matching lipstick and the hairstyle I imagined what would look great with it. I smile at my masterpiece as she finally clicks off her phone.

"Did I say that you looked stunning?" I say as I get up, fluffing out my dress.

Alex turns her attention to me as she smiles at my comment. "You did twice, but thank you." She says. This makes me think back about 10 minutes ago when I told her she looked pretty then 20 minutes ago I told her looks beautiful in that color. Just as I'm about to open my mouth to say something, I hear the door to my room open. Mom appears as she walks in and looks at us head to toe.

"Are you sure you don't want me to take you?" Mom says. I turn my whole attention to her as she smiles at both us, me more. "You know what, trimming that dress was a good idea. You don't want that trail getting dirty." Mom says which makes me and Alex chuckle in return.

"As much as we do Miss Monet', we have a ride there. My date is taking me and me and Isabella made a promise." Alex says.

My mom waves her hand as a 'its no biggie', "Alright, I'm assuming your mom knows about your date. But make sure to take lot's of pictures." Mom says. I smile at her as she opens her arms to both of us, gesturing for a hug. I glance back at Alex who looks back at me then my mom.

"Don't keep her waiting!" Alex says. She then rolls her eyes as she steps towards my mom and puts her arms around her waist. I smile as I join, putting one arm around her waist because my best friend is hogging the hug. Typical...

"Now that I got you two here, picture time!" Mom says. I try to step away from her but to no vail. Alex accepts her fate as she turns face back to my mom, looking towards the camera. "Smile!" She says. Her smile rubs off on me as i also turn towards the camera. She snaps the picture and right as she does, Alex's phone vibrates.

"He's here." Is all she says. My mom hears this and let's go of us and takes a step back, we both take a quick look in the mirror to make sure our look isn't messed up. After we do this, Alex turns towards the door smiling at my mom in a 'thank you' kind of way. She then walks out of my room leaving me and my mom. I feel my shoulders tense up as I see mom in the mirror noticed this. Crap...

"You don't look that excited as you did when you first entered highschool and you couldn't stop talking about it. Is something bothering you?" My mom says. She knows me too well... I sigh in return as I walk up to her, standing a foot from her. A little sigh escapes my mouth. "I know tonight will be something I won't forget, so I'm just stressed that's all." I say lying through my teeth.
