"Be safe. Drive safe. I love you!" Mom called as we pulled out of the driveway

I waved goodbye to her from the open window. I laughed at her antics before rolling the window back up and turning to Mike. It was the start of our five and a half hour drive back to New York. The time on my phone read 5:34 pm. We ate an early dinner with Mom before we left just to save the trouble.

"Ugh, we have to perform tomorrow." I groaned into Mike and I's twined hands

"Yes we do."

"We get to see Trixie!"

"If Ben didn't kill her."

"Hey! Ben wouldn't do that!"

"You don't know that."

"Shit."

I fumbled around for my phone and Mike laughed loudly.

"Joss. Joss! I'm joking! Please, don't call Ben."

I glared playfully at my boyfriend and turned on some music.

.  .  .

We were finally back in the city and we pulled into the parking garage next to Bens complex. I yawned, having just woken up. Mike opened my door for me and I took his hand. We walked into the apartment building and went up the elevator to Bens place.

I knocked on the door and Ben answered with a smile. He invited us in and Trixie can running out. As Mike and Ben talked I bent down to greet my kitty. Trix ran straight to me!

"Hey Trixie girl."

I picked her up and walked over to the two. Ben had retrieved all of her stuff and we thanked him.

"Ben, we owe you!"

"Don't sweat it. I loved having her!"

"Alright, I got to get my girls home. We'll see you later, Ben."

We left his apartment and Trix was worn out! She even fell asleep in my arms. We got back to the car and were finally on our way home.

In a matter of minutes, we were back in our own apartment. I set Trixie down on the bed and began to get ready for bed as Mike was out in the living room on a phone call. I stepped into the living room after I got ready but stopped in my tracks after I heard the words coming out of Mikes mouth.

"No Dad! I'm not breaking up with her! Why would you say that?" A few seconds of silence, "Stacy? Again? Dad, I'm not marrying her! I love Jocelyn! You have to understand that! No, I'm done. Goodbye."

He hung up the phone and rubbed his eyes. He looked up and saw me standing there.

"Oh! Joss. Did you hear that."

"Yeah. Yeah, I did."

"God, I am so sorry. My dad has this insane idea that I should marry this girl, her names Stacy, and break up with you. I'm not going to do it! Obviously! But, it's just wild!"

"I get it. It's okay." I rubbed his shoulder as he sat on the bed

We talked for a bit more before falling asleep, ready for the next day.
