The Lan clan members were all at Tiannu Temple. They all walked inside.

"It was said in that hundreds of years ago, a hunter from Fojiao Town went to the mountain and found a strange stone in a cave that looks eerily human. It has its four limbs in a dancing gesture. What's more, the statue even has a vivid face of a smiling women. The people in Fojiao town saw it as a miracle and made up many fairy tales about it." Jingyi explained.

Daiyu looked at the statue from afar. One of the Lan clan members grabbed his compass. He moved it around before putting it away. "According to the locals, making wishes here if really effective." He said

"Why is the temple so dilapidated now? Does nobody come to clean it?" Jingyi said. "A stone from nowhere was put here with no explanation. It should be considered a deity and served. The ignorant villagers pray all day. But they don't know the gods can't even carry themselves, let alone a stone." Jin Ling said as he walked down the steps.

All of the lan members turned to look at him before turning to look back at the stone. "If it is effective as people say, then I wish that the monster of Dafan mountain show up in front of me immediately. Can the stone do that?" Jin Ling said

He was looking at Sizhui. Daiyu looked at Jin Ling. She was observing with her eyes. "Yes. Young master Jin is right." One of the cultivators said as he stepped towards the stone.

The stone started to crack and the cultivator seemed to be spelled. He fell to the ground. Everyone ran towards him. "Hey. What's wrong with you?" Sizhui said as he kneeled on the ground. "Wake up!" He said.

The stone kept falling off. Daiyu drew her sword out. Everyone else did too. Sizhui got up and did so too. A talisman flew onto the stone. They all put the swords down and turned to look at the door.

"Young master mo" Daiyu whispered under her breath. "Young master mo!" Sizhui said loudly. "Get out of here!" He said. "Watch out! It's a soul-eating statue." He said as the stone began to move. "The stone just moved!"

Everyone pulled there swords out again. He threw another talisman. It fell off. Eveyone pointed there swords at the statue while backing away. Daiyu was next to Sizhui.

"Stop stalling. Run!" Xuanyu said. Eveyone put the swords down and ran. Jin Ling and Sizhui where the last to. Daiyu walked out of there behind them.

They all ran far. "Kids wait for me!" Xuanyu said. He was breathing heavily. "Who are you calling kids?" He asked. "Do you know our clan?" Jingyi asked. "All right. Men," he said "and women.." Daiyu said quietly. "Right." He said. "Can you set off a signal shell of yours and ask your young master lan for help?" He said

Jingyi and Sizhui looked for one. "Gosh. The shells were used up at the MO's manor that night. All of them" they told Daiyu. Daiyu's gripped tightened on her sword.

"You didn't get more?" Daiyu asked quietly. "I forgot" Sizhui responded in his own soft tone. Xuanyu scoffed "you forgot? You are going to be punished if your young master find out." He said

Daiyu looked at Xuanyu. "We're doomed. This time, young master lan will severely punish us." Jingyi said. 'Who was he to tell them this?' Daiyu thought. " 'punish' you are supposed to learn a lesson, or else you won't remember it next time." He said.

"Young master Mo, how did you know it was the fairy statue that ate souls?" Daiyu asked quietly. "I saw them." He said. "What did you see?" Jingyi asked.

"Old graves. So I deducted that it wasn't something soul-eaters do." He said. "Why?" Sizhui asked. Daiyu had already pieced everything together. She had seen the old graves on the way up. She knew that Sizhui and the others hadn't. So she didn't say anything and let Xuanyu teach them.
