George is by himself in the Gryffindor common room, sitting by the fire, reminiscing. The room suddenly goes cold. Ice cold. George looks around in confusion before his eyes land directly below the staircase to the boys and girls rooms.
"Fred" he exhales.
The figure smiled softly
"Fred?" He states again, confused and dumbfounded.
"You...Y.....You"
The figure approaches George, still smiling.
George dives toward his brother, arms open. Feelings of disbelief, love, regret, and pain course through his veins. And then he just felt like ice as he stumbled right through his own brother.
Fred's smile fades.
"I'm only a ghost, George"
George is on the verge of tears.
"W.... why are you here" he whispered.
Fred looked at the ground,
"Well, I realized, that we never got to say goodbye."
Now George was crying.
"Oh Fred" He sobbed.
"I wanted you to know that I love you" Fred said before turning to leave"
"Don't go." George begged
"I must. I cannot stay here." Fred was crying now too.
"I love you Fred. And I always will."
Fred turned around at his brother and smiled. George smiled softly in return as his brother ascended. The two of them smiled the whole day through.
