I yawned as I reached my hands over my head and stretched.
"Today's job was a tough one, huh Blade" I look over my shoulder with my hands still on my head.
"Hm." He answered with the slightest nod as he walked a bit faster to be next to me as we walk back to the base.
"I just want to lay down and sleep for once, does Kafka just never sleep or something? I swear she's always up at night," I complain and then I sigh "well, whatever, her business is not ours, right?"
He looks to his right to look at me and then again just nods his head and continues walking.
When we got to the base I was about to say goodnight and head to bed when Kafka approached us and she smiled.
"Glad I caught you two, I have something to propose. Come with me." She then turned and started walking to her office and we had nothing else to do but follow her.
When she sat us down she handed us tea cups, "Tea?" We both shook our heads no. To that she sighed and poured herself some instead.
"I have an idea for you, Y/n. Why dont you be our eyes from the inside?" I look at her clearly confused.
"Excuse me, can you elaborate?" Her eye sparkled with amusement and delight, "I mean I don't understand what you mean by that." I quickly explained myself.
She nodded and proceeded to explain "I want you to gain the trust and become a part of the Astral Express crew, be our eyes from the inside. You are the only one of us that is high enough rank and that they don't know." She finished and looked at me for an answer.
"I uhm well.." I thought out loud, "What about Blade? You mean to say that I'm going on this mission alone?"
She chuckled and shook her head. "Yes but no, you see, you will have consistent communications with either Blade, Silverwolf or me. We will hear everything and gather in tell about their position and conversations."
After she said that I thought about it and then I slowly nodded "Alright, lets do it, but how exactly do you plan on me doing this?"
After we had a long conversation about the mission I felt very confident in myself and our plan which was basically for me to just help them on one of the planets and then be a very loyal and become a very powerful player in their game. So much so that they will want me in their ranks and will ask me, no beg me, to join the Astral Express team for their own benefit. Meanwhile the team back here will be listening and planning everything. I laughed to myself as I thought of how devious I felt. I look over at Blade who is sitting on a couch nearby with his hand on his mouth like he's in deep thought. I walk up to him and plop onto the seat next to him and sigh, leaning my back onto him for support.
"What do you think about all this Bladie?" I raise my eyes up and roll my neck back to look at his face.
"I think it is a very necessary mission, but also very risky and difficult." He says with worry very slightly noticeable in his voice.
I look back at whats ahead of me and sigh, "Yeah, but you'll basically be there with me, we will be kinda on call all the time. Even when I'll be sleeping, you shouldn't miss me too bad" I nudged his side lightly.
"Well, in a week I leave for Yaia (Ya-ee-a) and then I will have to use my irresistible charm and good looks to get myself onto that damn train." As I said that I put my hand on my chest and boasted about myself for a while after until Blade rolled his eyes and stood up, making me fall onto the soft couch.
"Hey! What was that for?" I said sitting back up and being dramatic over it. He just looked at me and shrugged as he walked to his room. I heard a soft "goodnight Y/N" before he closed his door. I stayed up thinking of the task and then went to my bed about 5 hours after Blade left.
