your pov

You are standing in front of a big bathroom mirror in a hotel in new york, touching up your make-up a bit.
You finally had some time off, finally might be a bit of a stretch since you just quit your job.
It's not like you didn't earn enough money, you felt so stressed and you weren't really sure about it anymore. Working as the assistant for the headmaster of a big company might be a nice job but it just wasn't for you. It was time to find something else but with enough money saved up and more than enough time you decided to go on a little trip through america.
Slipknot so happened to hold a concert on your last day of staying in the nice hotel you picked for a few days, so why not attend the show?

You have always been into metal but you wanted see slipknot for a more particular reason than that.
Corey Taylor used to go to the same high school as you and you got along really well.
You weren't dating but your friendship still used to be really special, at least to you. You didn't know if he thought about it the same way you did back then but he was always really gentle and kind with you, not that you were 100% sure about it but you felt like he never treated anyone the way he treated you back then.
But that has been years ago, you moved and went to a different school, since then you haven't heard anything from him and suddenly he's a star, playing those big shows, having groupies and all those other things in his life.
It would be nice to see him again and that's why you were so excited to see him perform live tonight.

You grab your purse, make sure you got your ticket and everything you needed and leave the hotel making your way to the arena where they play at.
You see all the people in front of the arena and gulp.
It's been some time since you have been to a concert, you knew slipknot was a big deal but seeing all those people right in front of you was still suprising.
Not necessarily in a bad way, you were really excited for the show.
You got a ticket for a seat on the right side of the stage, moshing wasn't really for you, you just wanted to sit back and enjoy the show.
After grabbing a beer you look for your seat and wait for the show to start and when it did, it was amazing.

There was fire, almost everyone around you was singing and dancing and you were also having the best time.
Corey's voice was insane.. he also changed so much by his looks.
It was nice to see him have that much fun be successful with what he was doing.
You remember him as nice but not the happiest teenager, he really deserved all this.

And before you expected it the concert ended, it made you kinda sad, the show was so good and you would've liked to hear a few more song's. But if that was the only complaint then so shall it be.

You call a cab and drive back to your hotel to drink a few cold ones before you went to back to really call it a night.
Drinking by yourself wasn't a problem to you since you could enjoy your own company, that's also why you went on that trip all alone.

Arriving at the hotel bar you sit down at a table for two and look at all the drinks you could order, deciding for a gin tonic.
The hotel you stayed at was really fancy, it looked so gorgeous and luxurious. Everywhere you looked there were those really rich looking people, even if you could afford it for your trip you felt like you didn't belong here but why not enjoy for as long as it lasts.

You drink one gin tonic, two- and after almost finishing the third one you wanted to go back to your room. But before you could do that a group of men entered the hotel bar sitting down a few tables away from you.

that can't be... - you were confused. Were you just wasted as fuck or was slipknot sitting right there, in front if you?!
You knew that face, Corey.
It shouldn't be something to be nervous about but you haven't actually seen him in YEARS and you didn't know if you should talk to him or just brush it off.
Apparently you were thinking and staring a bit too long, he felt your eyes on him, turning around and staring right back at you.

You immediately look somewhere else but he doesn't seem to look away as well, that's so embarrassing..
You were lost in your thought's for a moment and before you could even snap out of it you feel a hand on your shoulder and hear a deep voice say

"Sorry, I might mistake you for someone.. aren't you Y/N?"
