"Ye kya pehen ke aye ho?" She crinkled her nose at his attire.
"Kya karaabi hai mere suit mein?" He smoothed the creases in his navy blazer with an air of smugness. When he arrived, he relished the female attention, even from the aunties who eyed him as their future son-in-law.
"Tum ek shaadi pe aaye ho. Business meeting mein nahi!"
"Matlab?"
"Kabhi suna nahi tha: Lucknow da kurta, Pathani salwar... tab lage mard, varna lage bekaar!" It was as if Kajol possessed her as she captured the actor's adaa and nakre.
"You're quoting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Really!' He laughed at her antics.
"Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum!' She smacked him but pulled him close nonetheless. Their fingers intertwined naturally, like second nature, and she rested her head on his shoulder as they watched their friends take a vow of forever around the pavitre agni. Jhanvi felt it in her chest again, that feeling. It simmered slowly, but it was there. She loved him, she knew that, but she hadn't told him. Yet.
