It was the day of our wedding, and let me tell you; I was not happy. I had to hire extra body guards just to have this wedding here in Panama.
"How you feeling?" Whispers Axle. I tugged on my bow tie around my neck lightly.
"To be honest, not so great. Keep six on our surroundings. Ivan and Axle nodded. The violinists began to play while Aurora walked down the aisle. I tried to smile.
Suddenly, shots were fired in the distance and majority of the guests began to scream while others ducked down from their seats. A few masked men running across the deck, one had ran into the table of stacked plates, knocking them over and causing them to shatter all over the ground. People ran left and right, fleeing.
"Get Aurora to safety!" I yelled. Her parents helped her up and scurried away to safety. My men were already on alert with their guns out. Some of them were already fighting with the enemy. I began to fight. I knew some shit like this would happen and the wedding barely started. I was already running out of ammo. I scoped out for another enemy, until I felt a presence behind me. I ducked.
I spun around swiftly and seen another masked enemy, this time it was the female who I encountered last week that freed me when I was trespassing. My eyes widened as we stood there in silence looking at each other. I could see in her eyes that she looked tired. Not only that, it seems like I could see the sadness in her eyes. She became angry and charged at me.
She swung again and I ducked. I kicked her off her feet and she fell to the ground. She rolled over got up again quickly before I was able to stomp on her, missing. She grabbed me and I punched her and she punched back. Going back and forth, we both became weary. She was definitely a fighter and quick on her feet. I then again, kicked the back of her legs that caused her to collapse on her knees and quickly put her in a head lock.
"WHY?! Why are you doing this???" I questioned her as I held her tightly.
She stayed silent trying to escaped my grip. I grabbed her mask and she swiftly elbowed me hard against my side as she slipped from grip and stood up. I winced in pain holding my side. Looking at my hand, I realized that I pulled off the mask. I looked up at her. I dropped the mask in disbelief. It couldn't be, no it can't..
It was Mia. She stood there breathing heavily. Her eyes began to water. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. My heart felt heavy and as if someone ripped it out of my chest. A wave of sadness rushed over me. She pulled out a switch blade knife. We could hear commotion as both of our attentions were focused on our men. Some of the enemies were fleeing. She looked back at me and walked backwards slowly.
"I'm sorry.." she whispered.
"Mia, wait—" I called out softly to her.
"I'm sorry." She answered again. Her tears began to fall as she turned and ran off.
I tried took a step forward trying to stop her, but stopped myself. Axle and Ivan came running towards me. I was numb.
"The enemies fled. Everyone's okay and accounted for. You okay?" Asked Ivan. I stood in silence.
~~
Everyone pondered silently as I sat in silence on the couch.
"Are you sure it was her?" asked Axle.
"We won't be sure, unless we go there again ourselves." said Ivan.
"Baby, maybe you're just tired. I mean after all, you've been working har—" said Aurora.
"—I KNOW WHAT I FUCKING SAW!" I yelled abruptly as I stood up from the couch. Everyone stayed silent.
"It was Mia." I said quietly.
Aurora stood up. "Okay well that's great, but her and her men attacked us. I think it's only fair that we take them out." She suggested.
Everyone looked at each other. I looked at Aurora.
"Are you telling me to kill Mia?" I narrowed my eyes at her.
She scoffed. "Well yea— I mean it's only fair." She said folding her arms. I shook my head and before furiously walking away. Aurora grabbed my arm. I looked at her hand and then at her.
"What? Are you not going to? Why do you want to keep her alive? What questions me is the fact you know her. She and her men clearly tried to kill us and all of guests. She basically ruined our wedding!" She exclaimed.
I got in Aurora's face and looked into her eyes. "I'm not fucking killing Mia. End of story." I said before walking away. Axle and Ivan followed while Aurora and her father stayed in the living room. I made my way outside into the walk out and stood by the ocean with my hands in my pockets.
"You okay Capo?" Asked Ivan. Axle followed closely behind him. I stared out at the ocean.
"I— I just don't understand why?" I questioned.
"Maybe M had her reasons." Said Axle. Ivan agreed.
"What reason could she possibly have?" I asked.
The both of them couldn't answer me. Thunder sounded and I began walking back to the house. Ivan and Axle both stayed back and watched me walk away.
~~
The door bell kept ringing and it woke me up from my sleep. I got up and groggily rubbed my eyes putting on my silk rob and slippers. The door bell kept ringing constantly.
"I'm coming!" I called out as I grabbed my gun from the table before answering the door. It was pouring out and a dark figure stood outside the front, shivering. The lightening flashed revealing the strangers face.
"Mia?..."
