It has been so long since Kathryn enjoys her day as its raining very heavily. A day full for herself only as she's basically recharging her social battery after going all out with her friends for the past two days. Its refreshing and amazing though, having to have fun with her high school friends, catching up on each other after four to five months not seeing each other.
She grabs her phone and hops onto Twitter to scroll and just scrolls. Soon, her fingers stop scrolling. Her eyes roam on the screen and her mind tries to absorb everything being displayed. She then turns her phone off and bores into the wall. Oh so he's doing just fine, good for him. Its just that she came across her used to be best friend or unofficial or maybe her clarified boyfriend but things got cut off out of nowhere. It definitely hurts of course as a former best friend whom she used to share everything, be it about her days or even the silliest things she had done. She told herself its okay, things have beginning and ending not to comfort herself, but just to tell herself to not think about him anymore. Once in a while she would come across him and there is really nothing she can do except for take and take and take.
Enough of him Kathryn then stands up and heads over her study desk, turning on her laptop checking her to-do lists of assignments and just her uni works. She is half way done with her project and a little bit of touch up would be the final end of her second last semester. University life totally takes a toll on her as she has been busy from the start and up until now, studying and studying. Despite of everything she still keens every single memories in her heart as the process itself is the one who brings out the best version of a student she is, right now and on top of all, she is beyond grateful for everything. She puts on her favourite playlist and starts hustling only to get it done hours later. She glances at her clock once she is done and realises it is late already, she must head to bed or she definitely would wake up late as she has to attend uni tomorrow, still has things to finish off before fourth semester break officially starts.
This is her third alarm and Kathryn is still fast asleep, on her fourth rings she finally gets up and gets herself ready. Letting her hair go she puts on a purple crop top and a pair of black jeans, not that tight but enough to let anyone sees her body curve. Make up is vital so she spends most of her times putting effort to appeal herself. There are two days of beauty for Kathryn. One is where she really has to put on make up as she feels bad not putting on and second is where she does not even bother of showing off her bare skins and today is just another day. Once she has done she puts on shoes and hops on her car, a special birthday present from her dad and makes her way to the destination.
Upon arriving she quickly dials someone and wait for her to pick up. One rings, the other side picks up.
"hey, Jules, where are you Im here already."
"Oh hey Kath can you come over our usual study spot im with mark"
"really ? what for"
"he has something to do too today so we are kinda hanging out together."
"alright see you."
Mark Lee. They used to be in one class before during their first year up until Mark decided to withdraw from the course. They never really interact but Kathryn can tell Mark is a cool guy to be friend with. Brushing off the thoughts, she quickly heads over the usual spot, the library. From a far, she sees two people sitting together, probably discussing things. She walks to them and a wishpered hi make the two turned their heads. Kathryn then sits next to Julie whilst Mark is sitting opposite from them. Kathryn looks at Mark and, she does not know what it is but a tiny feeling seaps in and goes through her whole body which makes her heart beats a skipped. There, Mark smiles at her, the smile he usual gives when greeting people. It takes a whole two seconds for her to stop staring and turns her gaze away from him, while returning the warm smile.
"Are you guys done yet", she asks, but more to asking Julie next to her.
"Yep, we're just talking shits when you arrived."
Mark also nods and says, "Do you want me to leave or are you fine with me staying ?"
Usually she despises anyone who interupts her discussion session but again, she doesnt get it why she feels like having Mark together in the library. However some parts of her also wants Mark to leave as she might actually get distracted even though there is really nothing more to discuss, the group project is done a week ago and the plan for today is to do proof reading and submit the project. Without realizing Kathryn is actually contemplating or actually fighting with her inner thoughts, between two. Allowing Mark to stay or not. Its no a big deal Kath cmon be kind to him will you. Other side of her is scoffing, NOOOOOOO. Cutting off her own thoughts, she blurts.
"YES."
Both of them are stunned. Kathryn then looks at the confused two and realized she didnt include the context of her yes just now. Kathryn quickly corrects herself, "I mean...yeah..stay if you feel like staying..I dont mind.."
Julie stares her giving the look. Julie knows. She definitely knows but she doesnt want to say anything and gives Mark a nod. Kathryn sighs, a calm sigh as Julie doesnt ask nor say anything. Mark smiles again but this time a brighter one and god. Kathryn just couldnt tear her eyes away, keep wanting to look at Mark. Really what is wrong with her today. Nevertheless they start working but the two keep on glancing at each other without they even realizing.A sigh of relief escape as they have finally submitted the project. Its really been awhile since Kathryn feels this light headed.
"Are you guys that happy?" Mark asks seeing the two girls. Julie laughs.
"Yeah dude we wont have to attend uni any longer how come im not happy", Kathryn smiles nodding. Its true though, semester break has officially started and now she will have to plan out what to do, maybe finding a part-time job or just chills out. Kahtryn then looks at Mark but then Mark quickly gazes away, as if he is hiding something behind his eyes.
"Do you have any plans after this, Mark?" Julie asks. Mark shrugs, "Nope, do you?"
"Oh we're just planning to go to cafe i dont know just chill out before heading back home." Before Mark can respond Kathryn cuts him off. "Do you wanna join us?" She asked.
Seriously what is wrong with her.
Mark smiles. He has been waiting for the invitation but he didnt expect it would be from Kahtryn. His heart blooms at the thought Kathryn wants to hang out with him but he brushed it away. "Sure, shall we?"
They kept the desk clean and got out from the library but Julie went to the toilet first so Mark and Kathryn wait for her. Kathryn stills. The air suddenly feels so thick with just Mark's presence and she really doesnt know why she keeps wanting to look at Mark. "The wheather is nice today, I love it" Mark said looking out in the air. Kathryn agrees. Mark then looks over her and notices something.
"Are you somehow...a purple lover?" shocked with the sudden question she turns her head and stares into Mark.
.......Mark stares her intently too as if no one can break their eye contact. Kahtryn swears she has never seen a pair of eyes this beautiful like seriously. Mark's eyes are so gorgeous, she nearly melts. "Mark, have anyone told you got pair of gorgeous eyes?" Mark smiles. Again. But this time its a boyish smile, with one of his eyebrow tilted as he bores into her eyes. Kathryn turns her gaze away and curses at herself.
"Shit, sorry." she mumbles. Mark started. "I got that alot before no biggie...anyway thanks".You also got a pair of beautiful eyes, Kahtryn. But he didnt say that out loud. "Yeah, i know you can tell im literally a purple enthusiast." She laughs. "Thats cute."
"Yeah?"
Mark nods. A natural pink blush forms on her cheeks and thats when Julie comes from the loo. "Omg sorry it took a while lets go."
