I escaped. I finally broke free. They have driven me insane. I’m not welcome in society. I sped across the land not letting that thing take control again. I ran into a tree and looked behind me and saw the shadow of my other self. I shouted at it, “LEAVE ME BE!” it had a widening grin and came over to me. Its figure loomed over my small figure. I cried to myself squinting my eyes closed and hoped it would leave. I heard a few unfamiliar voices behind me. They sounded male yet unfamiliar.
“Hey, can you pass my hoodie please it’s freezing.”
The masculine voice caused me to stop crying and look past the tree seeing four men around my age stood there. I looked back to see the figure gone. I decided to slowly sneak up and watch from afar. I hid behind a bush to hide myself. They laughed. They joked. I wanted to join but knew I couldn’t. I went to turn around and sneak away. Until I tripped and tumbled backwards and hit my head on a tree right next to them. I turned my head to see all four of them gaze at me in confusion. I took a few minutes to regather myself.
“Daren what do we do?” a tall and slightly tanned guy spoke with an American accent.
“I’m not entirely sure.” a slightly shorter pale guy spoke with a strong Norwegian accent.
“We have to help them!” another tall yet pale guy spoke with a British accent.
The three of them agreed yet one never spoke or agreed and walked away. Before I felt myself being picked up, I panicked and punch the guys back until I heard the Norwegian accent speak up,
“Stop punching me. We’re helping you”
I gazed back at the ground and rested my head on his shoulder and felt myself at peace and closed my eyes drifting off into a peaceful slumber.
