Memories like magic

Appearing in pitch black

Becoming a spectacle

Overflowing from the crack.

My brain tracing back,

Projecting through my eyes,

Tears capturing every one,

Remembering all the lies...

Trying to breathe beyond the cries,

To make it through another night,

Why do I have to relive through this?

Why can I never find the light?

I just hold my pillow tight...

Waiting for a moment of reprieve,

Trying to create a blank space,

For the next memory I receive.

What story will my brain weave?

Will it be real or make believe?

How long must I wait,

Before I'm left to grieve...

Not even moments, I perceive...

Another dance in the dark...

Like a phantom in the night,

coming to leave its mark...

I'm just looking for that spark,

A way from the edge of despair...

A light in the midst of chaos, 

Just to smile while breathing air...

To feel only memories with care

that make me happy and free...

To focus on nothing but horror and dread

Have taken their toll on me...

Happiness is where I want to be,

Feeling warmth instead of cold...

Spreading joy to those like me,

If I may be so bold...

I want the truth to be told...

Sadness is not where we stay,

It may take us some time,

Just take life day by day...

One day, it'll all be okay...

Just know you're never alone...

Dancing all the dread away,

Against all we've been shown...

That's our first step to atone.

Leading light, laughter, and love

The happiness that comes next?

A sign from up above.

What we've all been dreaming of...

It will finally come true...

The battle of sadness ending...

We can do it, me and you...

Not just us, but others too!

Everyone else fighting this fight,

Can put their minds to ease,

As they venture toward the light.

Like a sunrise to the night,

The darkness fades away...

It's a beautiful beginning,

Smiles as bright as day...

And even though you might stray...

Just know that you'll be okay...

Look to the sky, day or night,

And I know you'll find your way...

The memories that we keep at bay...

Can finally be put to rest...

The memories now recalled,

Will be nothing but our best!
