The Dragon Knight

Chapter 1

I turned my head to Obi-Wan as we dangled, held by our wrist, chained to the post. "This seems to be an arena." He nodded eyeing a large tunnel where we could both hear roaring. "So it seems."

"What do you think they'll have us fight?" I asked, "Probably some of the animals that live here. I hear that some of the predators can be rather... sharp."

Just then, a huge dragon was forced into the arena, dragged by no less than thirty geonosians. Padmé gasped. "How can they do this to such a beautiful beast?" She was right, the dragon, while at first glance seemed dull, had browns that mixed together, amber under scales, and pale orange speckled everywhere.

It's head thrashed back and forth, it's tail swatted at the guards. They were clearly having troubles holding it. "That 'beautiful creature' is probably what they're going to use to kill us!" That was Obi-Wan but he too seemed to be in awe of the creature before us.

At last, the dragon broke free from its restraints, sending the geonosians flying before they righted themselves and flew a safe distance away. An announcement rang through the stadium. "Geonosian hosts! I present to you, Jedi masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. Joining them is Padmé Amidala 'queen' of Naboo. Hunters have also found this terrifying beast, a dragon of Geonosis from a species long thought to be extinct." It was Dooku's voice. Cheers rang through the stadium. "First we'll have our geonosian dragon fight against a few friends. Then the survivor will fight our esteemed guests that so graciously visited us."

While Dooku was speaking, the dragon whipped towards where the three prisoners were hanging. Her eyes narrowed on the Jedi robes then she fixed her amber eyes on Padmé. She took a step forward.

Just then, a Reek was released into the arena and launched itself at the dragon. It quickly whipped around and darted to the side. It was surprisingly quick. My stomach twisted. I should study it, cause it will be a dangerous opponent if we have to fight it.

When the Reek charged by, it's momentum carrying it past the dragon, it lunges forward, lightning fast, and clamped it's jaws onto it. I stared at its sharp teeth that gleamed before sinking deep into the Reek's flesh. The Reek let out a bellow but was unable to move. Still gripping the Reek in with its teeth, the dragon lifted a talon, claws gleaming as sunbeams bounced off them, and seized its head, pressing it to the ground. With a vicious twist, it snapped its neck before stepping back almost delicately, letting the corpse flop to the dusty floor.

For a couple of seconds, everyone was silent, staring at the corpse, unable to believe that the fearsome animal had been taken down so quickly. Then the stadium erupted into cheers.

Next was the Nexu, and after that an Acklay. Both were taken down with terrifying strength and skill. It was clear that this dragon was not only strong and fast. It had something a lot more dangerous: intelligence. In addition, it also knew how to utilize its skills and stronger senses.

Now, it's eyes glittered as she walked forward, towards where they still hung. She paused a couple meters away from them studying them. Her gaze brushed past Obi-Wan and myself, settling on Padmé.

Her ears twitched and she twisted her neck around and stared right at the top box, where Dooku, Jango Fett, and some others. Then she lowered her wings slightly and ripped the clamps holding them closed right off!

At that moment in time, everyone's face probably looked something like this: 0_o

The beast stretched her wings wide and gave what I could've sworn was a smirk. Then she lunged forward at Padmé clamping her jaws down on something. I let out a yell as Padmé let out scream of fright and twisted her body. But there was no blood. As she lifted her head cautiously, she saw that her chains had been broken and she was on the dragons back.

The dragon let out a rumble that sort of sounded like a laugh as she brought her head down to gaze into her startled eyes. The beast nudged her with her snout, and after she got over her surprise, she smiled and pet her head. She pointed at me and my master, hanging with our mouths open as we stared at them. "Can you free them? They're my friends." The dragon nodded its head and within moments, we were both sitting next to her on the back of the dragon.

I let out a shaky breath, "I'm glad you're both alright."

"They're a she." Padmé suddenly declared. "Who?" Asked Obi-Wan. "The dragon." She stated, "How do you know?" I questioned. She shrugged, "I just do."

Our moment was interrupted by platoons of droids marching in on all sides. The dragon nudged them off her and curled her body around them defensively as she snarled at the B-1's and B-2 super battle droids approaching. Dooku's voice rang out again. "Jedi, I see you have made a new friend. If you give yourself up, I won't hurt them. You have no allies. You would be wise to surrender."

The dragon closed her eyes for a second before glowing a soft golden light. When the glow faded, the dragon was gone and a girl was standing in her place. She took out two lightsabers that were hanging on her belt and ignited them. They glowed white, a color I hadn't seen before. I noticed two other lightsabers hanging on her belt. "That is where your wrong, fallen Jedi."
