Two days later

It's been a long two days without talking or seeing Scarlett. I walked into the gallery and I saw Scarlett talking to some guy.

A few other persons were here touring and admiring my artwork that was hanging on the walls.

I made my way over to her and the guy looked at me. He was smiling until our eyes met.

"Lettie," I said and Scarlett turned around.

"Hi," she said without her eyes meeting mine.

"Can I talk to you in private?" I asked and she looks over at the guy.

"Excuse me for a minute," she said and I walked away with her following.

We went to her office and she closes the door behind her.

"Is this about the art collection-"

"No, I wanted to see you," I said bluntly.

"Jaylynn-"

"Are you angry at me?"

"What? No," she said

"Did I hurt you,"

"No Jaylynn," she said and I run my fingers through my hair.

"Then why are you ignoring me?"

"I'm not," she said so I walked up to her and she stopped me.

"Jaylynn I don't think we should do this anymore. We're partners and neighbors, I think that should be the only relation with have," she said.

"Is this because of what happened two days ago?" I asked

"No," she said and I tried making eye contact with her but she wouldn't look at me directly.

"Please respect my decision in this," she said and as much as how I wanted to disagree I gave her a nod in agreement.

"I think I should go then," I said and she nods.

I walked to the door and she spoke making me halt.

"Can you keep what I said about my marriage and parents a secret please," she asked.

"I wouldn't tell any Lettie," I said before leaving.
