"I think it would be a great opportunity to go and experience my home country."

"Aditi, I already told you no." My mother said, not even looking up from her news paper. She was a women in her early 40's. Long sleek black hair that reached her waist. Her skin was white, eyes a dark brown almost black. Her nose was high and slim, jaw a little round and lips small. She wore a gray pant suit with a black dress shirt underneath and black open toed heels.

"But why~" I whined, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her.

"There are many reasons I'm not letting you go." She said standing up from the dining table and walking over to the coffee pot.

"Give me one." I said crossing my arms over my chest as I watched her intently. She turned around, a raised brow and coffee mug in her hand.

"You can't speak, read, or understand the language," She said holding three fingers for everything she pointed out. "You don't know anyone there, no passport, no understanding of the culture. And sweetheart, you'd probably get lost once you step off the airplane." She finished and poured coffee into her mug.

"What is that supposed to mean!?" I asked a little offended by the last thing she said.

"You got lost for 2 hours walking to your aunts house." She stated taking a sip of her coffee.

"I couldn't find the street." I defended myself.

"She lives 2 blocks away Addy. Your poor sister had to walk home by herself." I pouted and sat on the floor, quivering my bottom lip. "That's not going to work Aditi."

"Ugh..." I groaned and laid back on the floor, my legs and arms spread out. She stepped over me and grabbed her briefcase.

"Oh," A husky voice said. "Addy dear, what are you doing on the floor?" My father asked walking into the kitchen. His deep set, light blue eyes landed on me. A man in his late 40's. Dark blonde hair that was combed back, a slim nose and chiseled jaw line. He was built for someone who was almost 50. He isn't my real father, but he's raised me since I was a kid so to me he is my one and only.

"Dad can I go to Korea?" I stood up from the floor and jumped on his arm. He looked at me questionably then looked at my mom. She raised a brow and shook her head. My dad looked back at me and sheepishly smiled, shrugging his shoulders as he did it. I let go of his arm and hung my head in disappointment.

"This conversation is over, I have to go to work now," My mom started. "Talia I'm leaving!" She shouted up the stairs.

"Okay Mom!" My sister shouted back.

My mom quickly gave my dad a kiss goodbye then left. "Wanna know a way you can change her mind?"

I looked up at my dad who was preparing to make breakfast. "What is it!?"

"Annyeong haseyo!" I said loudly bowing in front of my mom. Her and my sister stared at me surprised. My dad watched me with amusement.

"Annyeo- huh?" My sister tried repeating. She had dark brown, shoulder length hair. It was in a pony tail at the moment. Her light blue eyes are the first thing you notice about her. Skin fairly tan, she was tall and skinny. Only a year younger then me, also my half-sister, she never really showed any interest in going to the country where her own mother came from. Or our dads.

"Aditi, what are you doing?" My mom asked putting the fork in her hand down.

"Proving to you that I can go to Korea," I moved closer to her with several papers in my hands and a small booklet. "Look I've been practicing my Korean. I can now, understand, read and speak it fluently."

She looked at me skeptically , crossing her arms. "That's not enough. You still don't have a passport and you don't know anyone there." She said in Korean.

"Yes I do," I held out the small booklet. Her eyes widened in disbelief. "And I do know someone there. Zara moved to Korea a few years ago, she lives in Seoul. She said if I convince you I can move in with her until I find my own place."

She sat frozen in her seat, staring down at the passport I handed her. "You don't have a job. What about money?"

"Zara got me a job as a secretary for her fiancé." I said excitedly.

"Wait, how come Addy gets to go to Korea?" Talia whined.

"She isn't!" My mom snapped.

"What? But I've spent weeks learning Korean and studying on the formalities. I got a job, a place to live. Why can't I go?"

"Because..." She trailed off.

"Because we'll all miss you when you leave on Friday." My dad spoke up. The three of us snapped our head at him.

"Friday?" He nodded. I ran over to him and gave him a big hug.

"It's your early Birthmas present." He said chuckling.

"But that's not for another month."

"I know that's why it's an early gift."

"Kamsahamida!" I shouted planting a kiss on his cheek and running upstairs to pack.

Friday rolled around and we were at the airport. I was in the bathroom fixing my hair. It was in a loose ponytail, my bangs were swept to the side. I wore an oversized black and white striped shirt with a pair of cut off shorts. A pair of black converse shoes were on my feet. Walking out I head back to the terminal where my parents and sister waited.

Talia looked up from her phone and frowned. "You know just because it's like 74° here, doesn't mean it will be over there. It's October."

"I know. I'm gonna change before I get off the plane." She rolled her eyes before turning her gaze back to her phone. I pouted and sat down next to her. "Your gonna miss me, I know it."

"Of course I'll miss you. Your my only sister!" She nudged me with her elbow.

'Flight 316 to Incheon South Korea now boarding.'

The voice announced. We all stood up from our seats, I grabbed my backpack and started to the gate.

"Make sure to call us as soon as you land. Okay?" My dad said hugging me.

"Just make sure to call us when we're up and not sleeping." Talia said wrapping her arms around my shoulders. "And if you see any cute K-Idols," She stepped back and put her hand up to her ear in a phone manner. I gave her a curt nod then turned to my mom.

She let out a deep sigh and engulfed me in a big hug. "Don't get lost and if you get sick call me. Don't talk to strangers and make sure once you get off the plane look for your cousin."

'Last call for flight 316 to Incheon South Korea'

"Well I guess this is it. Till we meet again." I waved and started to the plane. Sitting in my seat I place my backpack on floor and look out the window. My parents and sister waved to me one last time before turning and leaving.

'Hello this is your pilot. The time in Incheon South Korea right now is 11:37 PM. The current temperature is 45°. It will be a 14 hour flight so this will be a good chance to get to know the person seated next to you.'

"You should've worn longer pants." The boy next to me said in Korean. He had pure white skin, pink cotton candy hair and small dark eyes. A slim nose and full lips, I could only respond by laughing nervously. He wore a white graphic tee with a green jacket that had orange trimming inside, dark navy jeans and a pair of black combat boots.

"Yeah, I didn't think it would be that cold over there." He smiled and sat back in his seat. I pull out my phone and headphones. "The pilot did say to get to know the person next to you." I turned back to ask the boy his name only to find him fast asleep. My mouth hung open as I stared at his sleeping figure. "How long did it take me to get my phone?"
