Big Brother Atsushi

Atsushi was doing some paperwork for the ADA when he remembered that he left his apartment in such a rush, he forgot to make Kyouka breakfast. She had been sent out to go shopping with Kunikida because although he is able to carry bags (rather easily too, his record was 8), his list always ended up making him only stick to the essentials and not worry about what his coworkers wanted. Kyouka on the other hand was very observant and knew what all of her coworkers and friends wanted.

Kunikida bought Kyouka a new phone after sorting out the one that controlled Demon Snow, sometimes after she finished what little work she had, she and Kenji would play games on it and have some of the most adorable conversations. Atsushi quickly slipped his phone out of his pocket and texted Kyouka.

Atsushi: I'm so sorry Kyouka! I left in a rush this morning and didn't make you breakfast, did you have anything to eat?

Kyouka: Yes, don't worry Sushi, I made myself some cereal and Kunikida bought me a small pastry.

Atsushi: Ok good, I'll see you later :)

Kyouka: See you later

Atsushi gave a small sigh of relief, not unnoticed by Dazai who was, as always, letting his stack of paperwork collect dust and letting his laptop go dark.
"Are you alright, Atsushi-kun?" He asked.
"I'm fine Dazai-san. I just texted Kyouka to ask if she had breakfast." Atsushi replied kindly.
"Someone's acting like a good big brother~" Dazai teased in a sing-song voice as Atsushi's face turned beet red.
"I-uh..." Atsushi really had no response to that.
"Oh stop teasing the poor kid Dazai." Yosano said from behind Atsushi's chair. "Unless he's feeling unwell of course, in which case, he can come to me for a checkup~" She said 'innocently', not bothering to hide the devilish grin on her face.
"N-nope! I'm feeling fine! So fine in fact that I think I should go for a jog and finish my work at home! Haha!" Atsushi shovelled three or four sheets of paper into his bag before bolting to the door of the office.
"See you tomorrow Atsushi!" Dazai called from behind him.
"Byee!" Atsushi hurriedly replied before closing the door behind him and speed-walking to the lift.

"Was it something I said?" Yosano asked in her supposedly 'innocent' voice.
"Not at all..." Dazai replied before starting to ramble about all the ways that he could die when using a lift.

Atsushi had done a little shopping for dinner and other things before he went back to his apartment, it was the late afternoon-almost evening- and the sun was starting to set over Yokohama's horizon.

Atsushi shut and locked his front door with a click and set his keys on the counter. Switching on a light, he walked over to his small kitchen to pu his shopping away when he saw a bowl covered in foil with a note next to it. It read:

"Atsushi, Kyouka tired herself out looking for a 'superior' bowl of tea and rice for you and she brought me here. You might need to warm the bowl up if you would like to eat it, but know that you owe me as Kyouka is under your care and she spent all my money today.

Kind regards, Kunikida"

Atsushi laughed lightly at the note and set it down. He took the foil off of the bowl and he saw one of, if not the, most amazingly presented tea on rice dish that he had ever seen, his mouth watered at the sight of it.
He set the bowl back down for later, he wanted to check on Kyouka first as she was walking around all day. He knew that Kyouka's old job would have been a lot more draining than shopping and walking around, he just couldn't help but worry.

Atsushi walked over to the door of the bedroom and was met with something that made his heart melt. Kyouka was fast asleep, wrapped in her futon and she was snuggling the plushie Atsushi had won her on the first day that they met.
He slowly and quietly bent down next to the sleeping girl who he viewed as a sister and lightly kissed her on the head. As he got up Atsushi whispered quietly.

"Thank you Kyouka."
