"Have you ever thought about running away?" Raven asked unexpectedly.

"You mean, have I ever thought about escaping our homophobic state? I think you already know the answer to that," Jordan replied.

The two sat in silence for a few moments. Raven ran his fingers through Jordan's curly brown hair as Jordan laid his head on Raven's chest.

Raven spoke up again. "How does Oregon sound? I've always wanted to go to Oregon."

"Come again?" Jordan asked, his face twisted in confusion.

"Let's escape our homophobic state and go to Oregon, a state that's not trying to take our rights away," Raven repeated with an excited smile.

Raven could tell he had shocked his boyfriend, because Jordan was trying to form words, but nothing came out.

Raven tried to convince him. "It'll be fun."

"I-I'm sure it will be, but we need to do the proper planning before we go. We can't- We can't just leave."

Raven sprung from the bed they were sitting on. "Yes, we can!" He looked genuinely excited.

Jordan stood with him. "Have you even thought about this for longer than five minutes? How will we get there? How long will we be there? Where will we stay? It's not like we have an apartment waiting for us in Oregon." He didn't sound angry, just confused and shocked that Raven would ever consider leaving on a whim.

"We'll take my motorcycle, or we can go by train or on a plane. Hell, I'd even go by horseback as long as you were coming." He was already taking clothing out of his closets and drawers. Jordan took the clothing from Raven.

"The motorcycle would be preferred," Jordan replied, "but where are we going to stay when we get to Oregon?"

"We'll stay in a hotel until we can get a crappy studio apartment together." Raven took the clothing back. "You said 'when.' You want to go!"

"Of course I want to go. I just think we need to figure out the logistics first. Do you even know how long we're going to be in Oregon?" Jordan tried reasoning.

"I don't know how long we'll be there, but as long I have you? As long as we're together? Forever is never too long."

With that Raven had convinced him to leave today, right now. "Okay, how are we getting there."

Raven pulled out his phone and pulled out google maps, "We will exit Iowa, then we'll stay the night in Nebraska, then we'll drive through Colorado and stay the night there, then we'll go through Utah and Idaho, and after we're done with Idaho we'll be in Oregon."

"That sounds like a lot of states," Jordan pointed out, "but it also sounds like a lot of fun."

Raven pulled Jordan close and kissed his lips softly. "You're not going to regret it."

"I better not," Jordan grumbled, but he couldn't fight his smile as he kissed his boyfriend again.

"Come on, let's pack for Oregon."
