The Third Beta, Chapter One (Part 1)

Scarlett continued to tie her crosse as she decided that this year was the year that she make starting line for her school's lacrosse team, she suddenly jumped as she heard something hit her window as she assumed the worst as she grabbed a nearby baseball bat. She slowly crept down the stairs of her house, not daring to make a noise as she made her way to the front door and gently opening it hoping to not cause a sound. She raised the bat up to her head as she took the posture of a batter as she was ready to swing on anything that leaped out at her as she slowly circled the front porch, suddenly her best friend stiles dropped down from the roof of the poach as she took a swing out of fear but luckily she missed as she would look at him and say

"What the hell are you doing up there? I thought you were a stalker or the predator."

Stiles let himself down from the roof as he started to laugh at what Scarlett said as he dusted himself off before saying.

"Stalker, I understand the concern and even then you should have called me but the Predator? Really Scarlett out of all the things that you could had thought was outside of your house stalking you"

Scarlett got a little agitated as she lightly punched stiles in his shoulder before placing the bat back inside as she looked back at him with a expression that showed she wasn't amused, she would then remember that stiles only comes over to her house for two things and that's either to hang out or something interesting happened so she said.

"You try being home alone and then hear something outside your window, but ignoring that, why are you here so late? Did something happen at the station? "

Stiles regained his smile as he started to talk to Scarlett.

"Funny story, you know how we borrowed those radios from my dad to listen out for when he was coming home? Apparently they found a body in the woods and are out there searching for it and I had the brilliant idea of going out there and looking for it ourselves."

Scarlett looked at him for a second as she thought about the stupidity of this plan of his but she knew she was going to get dragged alone no matter what, so she decided to point out the obvious as she walked towards the car to head to the forest as stiles followed as she would say.

"Ignoring the obvious stuff, Why are we heading up there to look for a body if they already found it?"

Stiles opened the driver's side door to his car as he looked at Scarlett and smirked.

"That's the special part, they only found half of the body."

Scarlett would stop in her tracks as she hopped in the passenger's seat as she looked at stiles with a face of shock mixed with interest.

(Short time skip)

Scarlett and Stiles would be walking through the forest with a flashlight as they walked carefully to avoid tripping on any roots or branches, Scarlett would be looking around while Stiles spotted the flashlight as they went deeper into the forest as Scarlett said.

"So what exactly are we looking for out here? I need to get back home soon so I can make it to practice tomorrow."

Stiles simply said without missing a beat.

"Why would you need to practice if you are just going to sit on the bench all day and I have no idea what we are looking for out here, just praying we get to see the body first before it's taken away."

Scarlett stopped for a minute as she looked at stiles and then out at the forest before waking up to him, as she said.

"Just a minor question but did the thought that whoever or whatever made the body is still out ever cross your mind for a second? And for your information I can feel that i will make the first line this year for your information."
