the prince had stormed into the ruby palace taking in the massacre his father had done and created.
blood was everywhere, maids were lined up as there was a crying baby infront of them wrapped in a white cloth
"p-prince what are you-!?" the read haired knight also known as felix robane was going to finish before he was interrupted by athanasius's presence.
"what..h-have you done?" he looked at all the blood around him and on his father's clothing
claude's blue jeweled eyes glowed as he made eye contact with the young boy "look there at that thing. diana did indeed give birth to it and named it 'athanasia' a name of immortality..how amusing!" he laughed
athanasius looked at the small baby and wanted to walk towards the baby to pick the baby up and comfort them
"what is it that you think your doing?" claude asked still having his sword by his side looking down at the young boy
"how could you do this..is this what mother would've wanted?!—why did you cause all of this!?" the young boy yelled at his father in disbelief.
felix gulped as he watched the scene unfold as the emperor's eyes dimmed.
"listen here. i don't want you ever meeting this child, i don't ever want to see you in this palace don't meet this child ever." he had said spitefully before turning towards the doors
"come felix. oh and grab my son as well will you?" he ordered the red head
"y-yes your highness..excuse my rudeness crown prince." he said guiding the boy to leave with the both of them.
"we shall see if the thing lives up to it's name 'athanasia'." claude said as the three of them exited the palace
athanasius turned his head as he heard the baby's cry and held a sad look on his face.
he promised her that he was going to convince his father to love that baby and to accept it, how badly he wished to tell them it'd be okay.

a year and a few months had passed since that horrible massacre claude had caused and today was the day athanasius was going to see the child, the gift diana had left for him and his father.
he snuck in through the garden and walked right in where he saw lillian and his little sister athanasia.
he remembered lilian york the woman that had been so captivated by diana's free spirit, the same woman who stood before his father begging to take care of the princess and so suddenly she took charge of the ruby palace.
