You let out a sigh while your friend rambles about her boyfriend, or at least you think you're paying attention. It's the final period of the day, during history class where most of the students are either dozing off or glued to their phones. And here you are, stuck with your beloved yet bothersome friend, Soyeon.

As Soyeon continues to chatter about her boyfriend and their recent outing, your eyes wander around the classroom. Today, the few paintings hanging next to the whiteboard, where your teacher stands explaining events from centuries ago that hold no significance to you, appear slightly more captivating. The classroom remains quiet, except for the teacher's lecture.

"You're not even listening, are you?" Soyeon questions, causing you to almost roll your eyes. You force a tight smile and avert your gaze toward her. "Apologies, was it that obvious?" you sarcastically remark, your smile fading as Soyeon scoffs.

"You're such a bore, Y/N," she says, leaving you taken aback. You shoot her a sharp look, your brows furrowing as you observe her. "The only boring thing here is the lecture the teacher is giving and you with your 'adorable' boyfriend," you roll your eyes. Throughout the entire 45 minutes, Soyeon has been fangirling over this guy she met just a week ago, who suddenly became her boyfriend yesterday.

"Listen, Soyeon, he's only interested in getting into your pants. Just move on," you advise her, trying to brush off her words.
"You're just jealous I'm getting laid Y/N" Ignoring her, you roll your eyes once again and rest your head on the wooden table provided by your school. Resisting the exhaustion and the temptation to close your eyes and drift off to sleep proves to be difficult. However, there are more challenging things in life, and you can endure until you get home. The worst part is that you won't be going straight home after the final period because you have an appointment for a tattoo today. After school.

Yes, a tattoo. After your friends convinced you to get matching tattoos as a symbol of your friendship, you made an appointment with the top tattoo artist in town. You weren't particularly afraid of getting inked, but you pondered whether you might regret it later. Well, it's too late now because you've already agreed, and everyone is thrilled about it.

Packing up your books and shoving them into your bag, you wait for the class to be dismissed so you can quickly leave. As soon as the class is dismissed, you are the first out of your seat, not even waiting for Soyeon, who curses at you.

Navigating through the crowded corridor, you mentally curse yourself for even attending college. However, your parents' expectations were far beyond what college entails. You never truly desired to pursue a career in law, but who knows what you want from your life anyway? That's beside the point.

You wanted to live like a free bird. You wanted adventure, thrill, and excitement from life. But with parents like yours, there wasn't even a point in trying. That's why you didn't tell your mother otherwise she would have gone ballistic. You don't see a reason why you should ask your parents for a tattoo, it's your body anyway, what's the big deal?
