Elena had finished speaking after what felt like around an hour. Perhaps it was less, but she hadn't looked at the time. If they had gone so deep, there was no point in chickening out just because it was taking long. Besides, by the looks of everyone, it seemed that they had listened to her. Really listened to her words, her memories of her father, the orphanage, and Sam.

''We should just kill that bastard,'' Gaz was the first one to speak, taking a step toward Elena, a glimpse of upset in his eyes.

''Agreed,'' Soap added, crossing his arms.

''I'll be right there with you, Hermanos,'' Alejandro added, taking out his pistol.

Giving a small chuckle, Price stepped toward Elena and placed his hand firmly on her shoulder.

''As much as I'd like to shoot that fucker in the face... we did make a deal,'' he spoke, looking at the group.

''Well, pardon my French, sir, but fuck the deal!'' Gaz shook his head.

''Yeah,'' Soap added and Elena couldn't help but hide the small smile that formed on her face.

Price pursed his lips.

''Is it possible for us to find the intel ourselves?'' Ghost asked in a more serious tone.

''It sure would be!'' Soap cheered. ''C'mon Captain!''

''We don't have to kill 'im,'' Gaz said. ''Let's just turn him in so he can rot in a cell.''

Price huffed and looked at Kate, who shrugged.

''I don't want to start a revolution with you boys, but this is something bigger-'' Price began, looking back at the group.

''Something bigger? This is a case where one of OURS has been meddled with-'' Gaz pleaded, starting to stutter slightly. ''A-and I don't want to see him hurt her again.''

Silence between them. Only Price's heavy breathing, as he tried to figure out a way out of this. He turned to Kate once more, who uncrossed her arms.

''Three years ago I listened to Elena like you did now and I wanted nothing more than to end Sam's life. Of course, I understand how you're all feeling... and you've known Elena for weeks instead of the days that I knew Elena for back then... Letting Sam in is a dangerous move, but... it's not for us to decide alone,'' Kate spoke and then looked at Elena.

The group walked through the base to the interrogation room, Gaz practically fuming inside.

''Control yourself,'' Ghost whispered deeply in his ear, causing Gaz to look up at him with a glare. ''This is important.''

''I thought you were on my side,'' Gaz whispered back so Elena couldn't hear. She was walking along first with Kate and Price next to her.

''I am,'' Ghost responded. ''Just need to think clearly. I like her too.''

''Wait, what?'' Gaz turned his head away, thought for a second, and looked back at the Lieutenant. ''Ghost, I already-''

''I know you like her,'' he said in his gruff voice back.

''So you don't-'' Gaz questioned, indicating with his hands toward Elena.

Ghost rolled his eyes.

''You're like a puppy in love, Sergeant... No,'' Ghost shook his head. ''I like her as a soldier. Good potential.''

When the rest of the group entered, it seemed that Elena and their commanders had already gotten a word in. Gaz crossed his arms and eyed Sam. Now much differently. It wasn't usual for Gaz to be thinking of all the ways of hurting someone, but the smug look on Sam's face made it hard for Gaz not to want to break the man's jaw.
