Chapter 8
The crack of fireworks echoed through the night sky, celebrating the start of the Jericho festival. A sea of people, both normies and outcasts, poured in, lured by the promise of food, games, and rides.
Wednesday Addams stood alone on the entrance of the festival , her heart heavy with an inexplicable sadness. She tried to shake off the feeling, but it only grew stronger. Unable to bear it any longer, she bolted to y/n's dorm before coming to the festival. She stood outside his door, lost in turmoil, her mind racing with memories and questions. After waiting for thirty minutes, with her hand on the doorknob, she turned it with trembling anticipation, but the door didn't even flinch. She tried again, and again and nobody opened , her frustration mounting with each failed attempt. Defeated and crushed, she walked away, struggling to hold back tears. She felt an intense emptiness in her chest, as if she had lost him.
Wednesday Addams' voice came out strained and almost choked as she asked her roommate Enid to go with her to the Jericho Festival. Heart pounding and stomach turning, she waited for Enid's response. But when Enid replied with a reluctant excuse that she had already committed to go with someone else, Wednesday's suspicion was aroused. Who was this mystery person that Enid was suddenly so eager to spend time with? She prodded her roommate for more information, but Enid's response was short and clipped. Her evasiveness only fueled Wednesday's anxiety and anger, and her mind raced with endless questions about who Enid was trying to hide from her.
She is consumed with regret for her actions towards Y/n. Her unwavering desire to leave Nevermore had driven a rift between them, causing Y/n to drift away from her. The guilt gnawed at her insides, a feeling she had never experienced before. She had always been stoic, rarely showing her emotions, but her current state was something entirely new to her. Her desperation to make amends urged her to want Y/n back in her life more than anything. The feeling in her stomach was unbearable, and she rushed to find a nearby trash can to vomit in before anyone could notice her weakness.
She hastily grabbed a napkin from a nearby food stand and wiped her lips, trying to regain her composure after throwing up in the trash can. She frantically scanned the bustling festival, searching for any familiar face to soothe her troubled mind.
A glimpse of recognition crossed her face as soon as she spotted the barista from the cafe where she had sought refuge from her therapist. He was with his father, the sheriff of Jericho. She couldn't believe her luck given that meeting the sheriff's son could affect her future dealings with the therapist in ways she couldn't foresee. She felt a new current of tension flood her stomach - was she feeling some kind
Of bad vibe from him.
****Y/n stood outside the Nevermore gates, dressed in a black v-neck t-shirt, khaki jeans, and black shoes. A silver cross with a purple gem hung around his neck. He checked his watch, waiting for Enid to arrive so they could go to the Jericho festival together. Although he would have preferred to go with his black butterfly Wednesday, she was still upset with him.
While Y/n was in his cramped dorm room, exhausted from doing ten thousand pushups. Suddenly, he felt someone's eyes on him. He knew it was Wednesday, who had most likely come to apologize for her behavior a few days ago.
Despite wanting to open the door, Y/n was determined to teach her a lesson. He continued his grueling set, ignoring her attempts to turn the doorknob and enter. Eventually, Wednesday gave up and left, much to Y/n's satisfaction, as he felt she needed to learn that he wouldn't tolerate her mistreatment.
After what seemed like an eternity, Enid finally arrived to meet up with Y/n at the gates. However, Y/n was taken aback by her appearance. Enid, who usually dressed in vibrant colors and bold patterns, was now clad in all black. She was wearing a long-sleeved black turtleneck, black shorts, fishnet stockings, and light pink lipstick.
