"My poor Celine." Isiah sighs, gaze focused on the closed doors to the bedroom. The crest of the Alivsi family decorates the area near the doorknob.
"It's the fault of Emilia." He furthers, sending a pitying look before turning away, "Her jealousy had to ruin my sweet sister's day."
Shut up you conniving sistercon. Is what Celine wants to say when her brother's footsteps begin to fade. She restlessly moves on her bed—which is far too comfortable for its own good—weaving a hand through strands of blonde hair. It's a stark difference to the short brown that should've been there.
With wide, disgustingly innocent green eyes, blonde hair and a frilly wardrobe, Celine can officially deduce her newly minted status as a white lotus.
She shoves her face into a really soft pillow and screams into it.
A time travel novel, a protagonist of a rofan, terribly hated by her family for no good reason and affection stolen by her adoptive sister. Her fucked up brother believed to have the power passed down by bloodline, but was actually the main character. The protagonist ended up suffering due to the schemes of her ditzy sister who wasn't so ditzy in the end.
Locked into prison with the approval of her family, on the brink of death. In comes the time travel, protagonist does a complete 360, uses her powers to get revenge and is simped over by the crown prince rather than her cheating fiance with the hots for her sister.
'A Lady with Black Thorns' and also the novel Celine read in her past life. The novel that happens to be the one she's living in, and the protagonist being her sister, Emilia.
When she's done yelling muffled profanities, Celine mulls over what she knows. A few days ago, Emilia ended up accidentally spilling tea on Celine. Unbeknownst, Celine purposefully tripped Emilia and her doting father Lucian comforted the white lotus while being a jerk to his biological daughter over a little liquid being spilled.
Celine had a pity party over her ugly dress being stained and locked herself in her room the whole day, which is why she's here right now. Except, she's been laying low here for a few weeks to grasp what the hell to do.
If anything, she feels a little lucky at the fact she has time to register all these memories and events.
Oh, and another thing. She has a murderous sister. Well, deservedly murderous. Celine sorts through the memories of the novel and and memories of this life to come across the obvious fact that Isiah and Lucian are neglectful piece of shits and that Emilia's wrath is rightful.
Which also means…her anger towards Celine is entirely plausible too. Another reason she hasn't left the room yet. She's not actually Celine, and fuck no, she doesn't want to endure Emilia's mind games. Just last month Celine was just a high school girl worrying about grades and now she's gonna die a second time.
Which leads to another question she's been pondering. Is this the first timeline or second timeline? If this is the first one, she'll have a chance of surviving. The second, Celine is at death's door.
Celine pulls herself to sit upright. After observing and sneaking around the mansion when her maids and family are busy, Celine is at least ninety percent sure this is the first timeline according to none of the major plot points being done so far. She can treat the sweet protagonist kindly and shove away those undeserving of the title of Alivsi for mistreating Emilia. In her past life, she favored the horribly treated Emilia. There was no way Celine is letting this main character suffer any longer than she has to.
She pumps her fists up with renewed vigor and a plan in mind.
Let's start, Operation: No Longer Lotus.
