I'm so grateful for 5k reads! Thank you all for reading, voting, and commenting. Always open to criticism. When I hit 10k, I'll definitely make a special chapter! Any suggestions? ALSO
when I look at the views on each chapter I realise a lot of people are reading in the wrong order 😭 like my latest chapter would have like 168 reads and then the one before would be 156, just thought it was funny.

He lay still in your arms. It was actually quite concerning. Motionless, the words caught in his throat. To anyone else, he appeared to be dead. The rise and fall of his chest there no more, the batting of his eyelashes ceased.

Regret and fear were brewing in your stomach. Did you kill him? No, that's not possible. Malfunction? Possibly.

"Uh.." you cleared your throat. Was he planning on coming back to life anytime soon?

"Okay.. I'm just gonna.." you shuffled out of bed. "Uh.. get me if you need anything, if you can hear me at all.."

"What did you mean by.. this?" He called out, his voice low. Unfortunately for him, it didn't reach your ears.

"Is she okay?" You asked, frantic. Tighnari paced speedily infront of you, entering the premises of the Pardis Dhyai.

"I'm not so sure. I'll deduce the outcome of her situation from your remarks." He huffed out. "Thank you for agreeing to looking after her. The rest of us are busy, I'm sure you understand."

Truth be told, you were irked. You were still experiencing the aftermaths of your own illness, now you had to deal with this deranged girl.
"You know, I'm not really experienced with this type of thing." You said, bored.

Tighnari rolled his eyes, "you'll do fine." He fumbled with the door knob, twisting it and pushing the wooden door open.

There lay the female, eyes shut uncomfortably tight, sweat trickling down her forehead, her green hair unkempt.

Tighnari nodded at you and took his leave. You creeped past the door, attempting to shut it silently, but the creaking of the wood alerted the sickened female.

"Haypasia." You called out, firmly. It sounded as if you were about to reprimand her. "..go back to bed." You whispered, softly this time.

"Y/n?" She coughed out. Obviously, she wasn't faring so well.

"Rest. Do you need anything?" You asked, not moving from you current spot by the door.

She blinked slowly at you. She almost seemed offended, like you'd said something wrong. She attempted to walk towards toward you, but she stumbled and fell onto her knees. A loud bang reverberated around the room in result of the impact, clearly, she was too weak to hold herself upright.

You rushed over to her, and hesitantly kneeled alongside her. "Are you alright?" You asked in concern. She looked up at you, dazed. Her lips curled into an unnatural smile. You remembered your past encounters with Haypasia, an unhinged woman. Was she ever sane?

You ushered her onto her two feet, guiding her to sit down on her bed. "Ah.." you sighed at the blood on her knees, now pooling on the floor beneath her.

"Do you know where they keep the bandages?" You mumbled, frantically searching any place where they could be hidden. "Forget it. I'll get some from the teapot. Don't you go anywhere!"
